Experience a Premium Weekend Escape: Discover Unique Investment Opportunities in Innovation, Culture, and Sustainable Industries in the South-West.

AgriStart, Life Sciences WA, ForBlue and ACWA are uniting to take technology developers, end-users, and investors on a regional journey to showcase investment opportunities in the South West of WA.
With its agriculture sector worth more than $2.36b, a $1.33b sustainable coastal and marine tourism industry, and health care as the South West region’s largest employer, this weekend escape will support cross-sector opportunities through a mix of roundtable discussions, cultural experiences, and networking, threaded with themes of sustainability and impact.

The Down South adVentures Weekend is part of the 2025 BioInnovation Festival, bringing together bright minds, savvy investors and experienced operators to engage with WA’s world class bioinnovation opportunities.

Ag2050 Economics Symposium: Imagining the Future of Agricultural Work

Join for a special economics symposium, hosted by CSIRO’s Ag2050 initiative, about the future of agricultural labour in modern food systems.

This seminar will discuss current research around the actual and anticipated challenges for productivity, profitability, and job quality in our era of climate change, sociopolitical stress, and human migration.

The special session will be chaired by Katie Ricketts, Principal Research Scientist and Agri-Labour Futures work package lead for Ag2050.

DEADLINE: Coles Nurture Fund Round 13

Coles launched the $50 million Nurture Fund in 2015 to help Australian producers innovate and grow.  Since then, they have offered more than $36 million in financial support to 108 small and medium sized businesses.

From a zero-waste organic mushroom facility, to extending the season of premium Eureka blueberries, the latest recipients are proof Aussie farmers are leading the charge when it comes to innovation and sustainability.

Australian producers can apply for a grant of up to $500,000 to help them develop unique products, technologies and processes.

Applications for Round 13 are now open and will close Friday, 14 February at 5pm AEDT. 

CSIRO WA Food and Beverage Sector Internships Info Session

CSIRO and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) are helping businesses in WA’s food and beverage sector connect with the state’s top STEM students to undertake business-driven projects through the WA Food Industry Education Collaboration Program (WAFEC).

Through the WAFEC program your business could:

  • Gain skilled interns to work on STEM-focused projects
  • Receive expert support to scope a STEM project (if needed)
  • Access a fully facilitated recruitment process, with a shortlist of top candidates
  • Receive $2500 per student upon completion of the internship project
  • Secure additional funding (up to $2500) for student travel if they’re working remotely for a regional business
