Wrays: Green Marketing and Greenwashing: Risks under the Australian Consumer Law

As companies strive to present a positive environmental image, they need to be careful not to overstate their position. It can be as subtle as a misleading packaging choice or a company claiming they are eco-champions! This is an area of increased focus for regulators, including the ACCC.

Please join us for a breakfast seminar where we will discuss the implications of ‘Greenwashing’ – when a company misrepresents its sustainability or ‘green’ credentials.

In this seminar we will cover:

  • An introduction to the Australian Consumer Law, including relevant prohibitions and associated penalties
  • ACCC priorities and ‘green’ marketing guidelines
  • Emerging greenwashing risks
  • Case/campaign examples
  • Steps you can take to ensure the integrity of your environmental claims

Spiritual Intelligence Webinar

Since the beginning of time, humans have been searching for answers.

How did we get here?

What is our purpose?

What is the true meaning of life?

Spiritual Intelligence is the ability to ask deeper questions about our existence and our purpose, and recognise the integrated relationship between ourselves and the world in which we live.

It means knowing that we are a significant part of a purposeful unfolding of life in our universe.

Masterclass: Navigating the new normal of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 2022

There have been a lot of important events in the world of D&I in recent years including the #MeToo movement, increasing sexual harassment claims, the Respect@Work report, and Grace Tame winning Australian of the Year in 2021. One of the key barriers to progressing gender equality is that people feel uncomfortable discussing the topic and themes in the workplace. This is due to a number of reasons including the complexity of the subject, fear of upsetting people and fear of saying the wrong thing. In this quickly changing DEI landscape it is vital that all voices are heard and we have balanced conversations.

This masterclass will open the door for men and women to step through together with confidence into this new world. We need to acknowledge that there is fear and address the emotions so that we can get comfortable with the new normal of DEI. It doesn’t have to be a perilous journey. This masterclass will help attendees demystify the language and gain a better understanding of the important topics. Let’s keep it simple and focus on what matters most in what it is really going to take to advance gender equality.

Brought to you by Women in Technology WA (WiTWA), this masterclass will open the door for men and women to step through with confidence into this new world. We need to acknowledge that there is fear and we address the emotions so that we can get comfortable with the new normal of DEI. It doesn’t have to be a perilous journey.
