Green Compute at the Edge Challenge – Ask Me Anything Webinar

9 September @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm AWST

Learn more about our Green Compute at the Edge Innovation Challenge

On September 2, Greentech Hub opens submissions for their next Innovation Challenge, Green Compute at the Edge: Sustainable digital infrastructure from regional WA to the world.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Green Compute at the Edge Innovation Challenge, join online on September 9 for an Ask Me Anything session with the GreenTech Hub team. We’ll walk through the submission process, key dates and eligibility, judging criteria, and our submission platform Impact Forge, before opening the floor for your questions. Whether you have your solution ready to deploy, or questioning whether this might be a Challenge for you, this is your chance to get clarity and make an informed decision.

What is an Innovation Challenge? What is this Challenge about?

GreenTech Hub operates on an Innovation Challenge model, which means we take themes to industry to discover the problems and constraints around technology adoption that moves WA closer to achieving goals around decarbonisation, biodiversity loss, and circular economy.

The Green Compute at the Edge Innovation Challenge explores the opportunity to build and deploy digital infrastructure, including data centres, to enable green compute in regional Western Australian contexts (such as Western Australia’s Mid West). The Challenge’s WA-specific use cases will be shared with innovators on September 2nd. These will define the scope of high-impact technologies sought, with our ambition is to see growth and deployment opportunities for high impact technologies across WA.

After submissions open, what’s next in the Challenge program?

After the launch of the Challenge on September 2nd, submissions will be open for 6 weeks, during which we invite innovators to submit their solutions in response to the use cases we have proposed. During this time we will host an online launch (September 4 for those who can’t join in person), and the supporting Ask Me Anything webinar to answer questions about the Innovation Challenge process.

Why participate?

Through this challenge, the GreenTech Hub, in partnership with industry and government, will:

  • Test solutions with real industry partners and real-world use cases  ; Provide access to validation, performance data, and expert feedback  ; Support the development of prototypes and pilot projects  ; Enable influence on standards, insurance, and compliance pathways  ; Facilitate connections with potential customers and early adopters  ; and Strengthen commercial and deployment pathways in WA.
