Applications are open for the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia’s (MRIWA) 2026 Science Communication Program, designed to build researchers’ confidence in explaining their work to non-specialist audiences.

The program includes a full-day workshop in East Perth on 25 November, followed by production of a three-minute research video. Participants can record their own video or work with a videographer at MRIWA on 9 December (video content must be suitable for public release and meet relevant organisational approval requirements).
Applicants must:

• reside in Western Australia
• be undertaking a MRIWA-funded project, or have completed one within the past 12 months
• attend the full workshop and participate in a follow-up video production session within 14 days.
