SUMMARY:City of Joondalup Startup Weekend 2024
DESCRIPTION:The City of Joondalup Startup Weekend\, taking place across March 15th – 17th is a 54-hour whirlwind event where you get to be part of building a business in a weekend\, Silicon Valley-style. It’s about pitching\, business model creation\, prototyping\, designing and market validation all in a friendly and supportive team environment. \nHow does the weekend work? \n\nFriday (5:30pm – 8pm) – We kick off with some networking\, before inviting anyone with an idea to ‘pitch’ it back to the audience. Everyone votes on the top ideas\, and teams organically form around these ideas.\nSaturday & Sunday (8am – 5pm) – Teams work on this new idea\, and experience the highs and lows of startup life as they try and build something from the ground up. We throw in a heap of caffeine and food – and see what ideas come out the other end!\nSunday Night (5:30pm – 8pm) – Pitch time! Teams share their ideas and a winning team is crowned\, and prizes are awarded.\n\nWho can attend?\nAnyone. Whether you’re 18 or 88\, a painter\, actor\, software engineer\, writer\, graphic designer\, entrepreneur\, photographer\, musician\, programmer\, museum curator\, or startup specialist. Whether you have an idea\, or have no idea at all. Everyone is welcome. \nWhat will I get out of it?\nThe professional and personal challenges\, the high and lows\, the failures and the success. \nWhat does my ticket include?\nAn awesome weekend with great mentors and facilitation\, Friday night dinner and networking\, all your meals and snacks on Saturday and Sunday – and a pitch event on Sunday evening with drinks and networking – all included! \nStartup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered citizens who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures or products.
