How to plan and implement communication programs that communicate about environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives.

This two-day virtual course reinforces the importance of developing and implementing purposeful communication and teaches communication professionals a number of practical ways they can improve the way they communicate their organisation’s social impact and performance. Explore how to communicate with stakeholders more openly and build trusted internal and external relationships.

About the trainer

Adrian Cropley OAM, FRSA, IABC Fellow, GCSCE, SCMP

A certified strategic communication management professional and past global chair of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Adrian Cropley is widely recognised as one of the world’s foremost experts in strategic communication. He is the founder of the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence and CEO at Cropley Communication. With a career spanning over 30 years, Adrian has worked with clients all over the world on major change communication initiatives, internal communication reviews and strategies, professional development programs, and executive leadership and coaching. In 2018 Adrian was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the community and the advancement of the communication profession in Australia. He was named an IABC Fellow in 2020.

DEADLINE: First Nations Heritage Grants Round 1

Funding projects that identify and add Indigenous values to Australian Heritage places

The First Nations Heritage Grants Program aims to assist in adding Indigenous values to Australia’s World and National Heritage listed places. The program also seeks to aid the identification of culturally significant First Nations places.

What do you get?

Grants between $25,000 and $250,000.

Who is this for?

Eligible organisations, government bodies, entities and individuals.

Overview

Round 1 of the First Nations Heritage Grants provides funding for projects that are aimed at:

  • identifying new Indigenous heritage values at existing World Heritage and National Heritage-listed places
  • preparing submissions for the addition of Indigenous heritage values to existing World Heritage and National Heritage listings, as applicable
  • increasing protection of World Heritage and National Heritage-listed places with Indigenous heritage values that may or may not be recognised in the heritage listing for the place
  • improving management of World Heritage and National Heritage-listed places with Indigenous heritage values that may or may not be recognised in the heritage listing for the place.

You can apply if you meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are a set of rules that describe who we can consider for this grant. You can apply if you:

  • are an eligible entity
  • have an eligible project
  • have eligible expenditure.

Steve Killelea
A global thought leader, is the force behind the Institute for Economics and Peace. His successful tech career and philanthropic focus on peace and sustainable development illuminate issues from terrorism to prosperity. With two Nobel Peace Prize nominations, he serves on the President’s Circle for Club de Madrid, holds an Honorary Presidency for Religion for Peace, and founded The Charitable Foundation (TCF) to combat poverty and conflict in Africa and South-East Asia. In 2007, Steve launched the influential Global Peace Index study, endorsed by figures like the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu.

Lisa Andrews
Sought after speaker and futurist. Lisa is inspired by a future of perfect knowledge, passionate about how devices and sensors can change the way we live in the next ten years. She is international faculty for Singularity University and CEO of WAVIA, a platform empowering people for impact. Lisa had her first successful exit from an engineering business in 2012 and started Angel Investing in deep tech companies that focus on profit with purpose. Currently working on projects with international organizations such as Singularity University, the UN, the Australian Government, Great Barrier Reef Legacy, ACTAI, Extreme Tech Challenge and EO.
 

Peter Rossdeutscher 
Peter Rossdeutscher is an Independent Board Director and former Global Managing Director, dedicated to addressing socio-economic inequalities and enhancing national competitiveness through outreach, upskilling and entrepreneurship. Committed to economic empowerment, he develops opportunities for First Nations peoples and promotes diversity in bridging the digital divide through pathways programs. Co-founder of initiatives like First Nations X, Quantum Girls, AgriStart, Start Something from Research, and QuantumTX, Peter actively contributes to building a more equitable future for the benefit of all.

This event will be held as a satellite event to WestTechFest on Monday 4th December 9am-3pm at the City of Perth Library Conference Centre.

Throughout the day we will provide demos of a range of tech including AI, Extended Reality, Cyber Security, APIs, IOT and sensors, and also low-fi tech. There will be options which can be utilised for large orgs or small orgs, and opportunities to develop a roadmap of what steps their org needs to take to incorporate various technologies into their social impact work.

F-up Nights is a global movement and series of events where stories of failure are shared. Each month, at events around the world, we get three or four people to face a room full of strangers to share their own f*ckup. Stories of businesses that go bust, partner deals that fall out, products that have to be recalled, we tell it all. Each speaker tells their story in 10 images followed by Q&A. At the end of the speakers’ stories, attendees are welcome to stick around and network over drinks.
