The Perkins Year in Review

On behalf of the Board of the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, you’re invited to attend the 2024 Year in Review presentation. Perkins CEO Professor Peter Leedman AO be sharing achievements for the last year and highlight the exciting research and developments ahead in our work on cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and rare genetic diseases. Prof Leedman will also provide a brief update on the business case for the Perkins initiative to establish the Western Australia Comprehensive Cancer Centre.

Health Innovation Accelerator Workshop

Protect, Partner, Profit Workshop

A workshop about how to protect and deploy IP for Company Creation and Licensing for Early-Stage Startups and Clinical Research translation.

Do you know how to best navigate the IP challenges for your start-up or spinout? Would you like to learn about how to deploy that IP for licensing or company creation? Join for a half-day workshop with Dr Peytee Grusche and Andrew Chalet from Thomson Geer Lawyers, as they undertake a deep dive of how to protect and leverage IP for your commercialisation journey.

This workshop is best suited for very early-stage start-ups (within a few years of company inception) and researchers who are looking at translating in the next couple of years. DEADLINE: Biomedical Industry Commercialisation Bridge Grant (CBG)

The Commercialisation Bridge Grant (CBG)  is a competitive Western Australian government grant exclusively for the biomedical industry sector. This round is funded through the $8.65 million Health and Medical Life Sciences Industry Strategy Funding, which sits under the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI). 

Biomedical Industry CBG are awarded in any of the following four categories:

  • Product Readiness
  • Team Readiness
  • Intellectual Property Readiness
  • Commercialisation Readiness.
