​While many companies focus heavily on regulatory approval and clinical evidence, successful NHS adoption depends on a much broader set of commercial, operational, and system-level factors.

2026 Medtech Masterclasses

The Medtech Masterclasses is a one-day, two-stream, high-impact program delivering practical, real-world insights across the entire medtech lifecycle. With more than 15 curated sessions, the program brings together experts and leaders from across the medtech ecosystem to help founders, startups, industry participants, and post-PhD researchers turn innovative ideas into clinical and commercial success.

The program is structured into two focused streams:

  • Developing Technical Readiness: covering product development, regulatory pathways, clinical trials, and technical innovation.
  • Developing Commercial Readiness: covering business strategy, fundraising, market access, and commercialisation.

Building on the success of the 2024 program, the 2026 Medtech Masterclasses will feature leading local and international experts from top organisations, offering hands-on learning, actionable strategies, and valuable networking opportunities that drive meaningful impact across the medtech sector.

A networking session and dinner will be held after the event, providing an additional opportunity to connect with speakers, peers, and industry leaders. Tickets for the networking dinner are available separately or as part of a package.

DEADLINE: AusSRC HPC Funding Applications Close

The Australian SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) is proud to launch the Astronomy Resources for Industry Applications (ARIA) Program, a new initiative designed to accelerate innovation through access to high-performance computing (HPC).
AusSRC is Australia’s contribution to the international SKA Regional Centre Network (SRCNet). The SRCNet will support the global flow of data and processing needed for the SKA telescopes – the two most advanced radio telescopes in the world, located in Australia and South Africa.
One of AusSRC’s goals is to support discovery and delivery of impact beyond radio astronomy. By working with industry to foster data-intensive innovations across sectors, AusSRC aims to leverage astronomy capabilities to generate broad benefits to the Australian economy and community.

The ARIA Program has been established to provide Australian start-ups and small to medium businesses with access to HPC resources to enable innovation in products and services aligned with key technical priorities.

For the 2026 inaugural funding round, AusSRC will support projects focused on:

  • Data Management
  • Data Visualisation
  • Data Compression

We are seeking applications from SMEs and start-ups that would benefit from HPC capability but face barriers accessing research-based or large-scale infrastructure schemes.

Applications are open to organisations from any industry excluding astronomy that can demonstrate how covering HPC-related expenses would directly enable innovation in one or more of the priority areas.

‘Morning Tea & Learn’ with Dr Greydon Gilmore

Join this event to hear from Dr Greydon Gilmore, a Canadian neurophysiology expert visiting Perth to connect with WA’s biomedical community.

This talk will highlight Greydon’s innovative work developing open-source software to help neurosurgeons plan and evaluate surgical procedures. The goal was to make these tools more practical, accurate, and easier to use in real clinical settings. By bringing together medical imaging, brain signal data, and software development, this work aimed to translate complex research methods into real world tools that can directly support patient care. More broadly, it shows the entrepreneurial opportunity to build surgical technologies that can improve precision and create new opportunities for innovation in healthcare.

This event is ideal for researchers, clinicians, and innovators interested in neurophysiology, imaging, biomedical engineering, or translational neuroscience.

DEADLINE: Investor Readiness Program (IRP)

AusBiotech Investor Readiness Program (IRP) is officially open for year round applications. This is a brilliant opportunity for companies from discovery stage teams to ASX listed entities to gain structured investor informed feedback on their translational pathway and capital positioning at no cost.

For ASX-listed life sciences companies, the IRP can help sharpen how milestones, evidence and capital needs are communicated to the market. It is designed to support clearer investor-facing positioning at a time when many companies are working to align development progress with capital strategy. AusBiotech’s IRP provides structured, investor-informed feedback to help life sciences companies strengthen their translational pathway and capital positioning — from early development through to institutional readiness. There is no cost to apply and you do not need to be a member.

OMRI Speaker Series: WA Chief Scientist Professor Sharath Sriram

The Office of Medical Research and Innovation (OMRI) is pleased to host the inaugural event in its new OMRI Speaker Series, featuring Western Australia’s Chief Scientist Professor Sharath Sriram, on Tuesday 31 March 2026.

This event marks the launch of a new Speaker Series designed to provide a regular forum for thought leadership, discussion and sector‑wide engagement across Western Australia’s health and medical research and innovation ecosystem.

The inaugural session will feature the WA Chief Scientist in conversation, focusing on the future of health and medical research and innovation in Western Australia. The discussion will explore emerging priorities, opportunities and challenges, and the role of collaboration across government, research, industry and the health system in delivering impact for the community.

We encourage participation either in person or online. The event will be delivered as a hybrid session, with opportunities for both in‑room and virtual engagement. DEADLINE: CRC-P Grants Round 19

Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) grants fund short-term industry-led collaborative research projects for up to 3 years. These are open to all sectors. As part of the AI Accelerator initiative, CRC-P round 19 includes up to $20 million for projects to help businesses and researchers across Australia accelerate AI development and commercialisation.

WALSIH Virtual Global Expert Program: Chris Molloy

​It will cover international R&D opportunities between Australia, UK and other nations supported by existing trade and regulatory alliances to speed up access to R&D services, trials, regulatory guidance and investment.

​The session will also discuss the impact on the sector of AI, Real World Clinical Evidence and a wide range of advanced therapeutics starting with Cell & Gene Therapies, but also radiopharmaceuticals, nanomedicines and targeted drug delivery that will shape a new generation of high-value precision medicines.
