SUMMARY:CyberThrive and CyberQueens - inclusivity for women in cyber
DESCRIPTION:Website: https://events.humanitix.com/cyberthrive-x-cyberqueens \nWiTWA is excited to partner with CyberQueens and CyberWest Hub to host an evening designed to connect students\, emerging professionals\, and leaders in the cybersecurity space. \nCyberQueens is an initiative supporting TAFE and university students interested in cybersecurity\, helping them build networks\, gain insights from industry professionals\, and explore career pathways in the cyber sector. \nThis event also forms part of CyberThrive\, WiTWA’s program focused on supporting women to enter\, transition into\, or progress in cybersecurity careers. \nCyberThrive aims to address the gender gap in cybersecurity by creating practical pathways into the industry\, particularly for women who are: \n• transitioning from another career\n• returning to the workforce\n• early in their tech journey\n• interested in moving into cyber from adjacent roles \nThe program brings together training providers\, industry partners\, and community organisations to create clearer entry points into cybersecurity careers through industry engagement\, mentoring\, practical training\, and skills development. \nThe evening will feature a short talk from Vannessa Van Beek\, a WiTWA Award Winner and Senior Cyber Leader\, followed by an interactive networking session. \nAttendees will also hear about Cyber CX Cyber5050\, another BWC initiative. \nAfter the talk\, attendees will take part in small rotating discussion groups (similar to speed networking)\, creating an opportunity to connect directly with industry professionals and peers in a relaxed and supportive environment. \nWhether you are studying cyber\, exploring the field\, or already working in the industry\, this event is a great opportunity to build connections\, learn from others in the field\, and expand your professional network.
