SUMMARY:Female Founders: Fireside Chat with Carla Bonner
DESCRIPTION:Join We Are Emersyn for a fireside chat\, powered by Spacecubed\, featuring Carla Bonner\, accomplished actor and speaker on ambition\, reinvention and the importance of self awareness for female founders. \nIn a candid and engaging conversation\, Carla will share her own personal stories of perseverance\, resilience\, lessons learned and strategies for success. Be inspired by her journey and motivated to ‘look inside’ and take action. After all entrepreneurship is about mindset\, ambition\, hard work and motivation. \nModerated by Megan Del Borrello\, founder of We Are Emersyn\, the fireside chat will be followed by an interactive Q&A session. \nEnjoy a delicious lunch\, make some great connections and have real conversations with like-minded founders (or soon to be founders). \n➡️Or why not make a day of it and co-work with us!\nYou’re welcome to join us from 9am and co-work for free until 4pm. \n➡️About Carla Bonner\nYou may know her as ‘Stephanie Scully’\, the rebellious biker chick with a loving heart\, from Ramsey Street. A household name and beloved character\, with storylines that pushed boundaries on the best serial drama\, on both Australian & U.K television\, Neighbours. \nWhile acting fed her soul for 20 years\, the exposure to an industry which can be brutal on the sense of self\, not only opened her eyes to the damage that focusing on the ‘superficial’\, can do to people\, particularly impressionable young people. It also brought her to her knees. \nWhile at times painful\, Carla remains incredibly grateful\, as it led her on her own inward journey. Finding a deeper sense of self\, that now fuels her craft and life. \nAdvocating for self-awareness and the journey of rediscovering one’s true self\, Carla shares her stories so you don’t feel alone and find comfort in your own. Carla is on a mission to inspire ambitious souls to fully embrace their unique self and stories\, to create a life & career they wholeheartedly love. \n➡️Timings:\n9:00am – 11:30am: Coworking\n12:00pm to 12:30pm – Registration\, Networking & Lunch\n12:35pm to 1:30pm – Fireside Chat and Q & A.\n1:30pm to 2:00pm – Networking & Event Close

SUMMARY:Startup Weekend Perth #19
DESCRIPTION:Startup Weekend is a 54-hour whirlwind event where you get to be part of building a business in a weekend\, Silicon Valley-style. It’s about pitching\, business model creation\, prototyping\, designing and market validation all in a friendly and supportive team environment. \nHow does the weekend work? \n\nFriday – We kick off with some networking\, before inviting anyone with an idea to ‘pitch’ it back to the audience. Everyone votes on the top ideas\, and teams organically form.\nSaturday & Sunday – Teams work on this new idea\, and experience the highs and lows of startup life as they try and build something from the ground up. We throw in a heap of caffeine and food – and see what ideas come out the other end!\nSunday Night – Pitch time! Teams share their ideas and a winning team is crowned\, and prizes are awarded.\n\nWho can attend?\nAnyone. Whether you’re 18 or 88\, a painter\, actor\, software engineer\, writer\, graphic designer\, geek\, entrepreneur\, photographer\, musician\, programmer\, museum curator\, or startup specialist. Whether you have an idea\, or have no idea. Everyone is welcome. \nWhat will I get out of it?\nThe professional and personal challenges\, the high and lows\, the failures and the success. \nWhat does my ticket include?\nAn awesome weekend with great mentors and facilitation\, Friday night dinner and network\, all your meals and snacks on Saturday and Sunday – and a pitch event on Sunday evening with drinks and network – all included! \nStartup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered citizens who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures or products. Whether participants found companies\, find a cofounder\, meet someone new\, find a creative collaborator\, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5\, everyone is guaranteed to have a heap of fun\, and to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur\, register now for the best weekend of your life! \nLearn more and see how the event runs at https://startupweekend.org/ (and read our Startup Weekend #19 announcement blog here!) \nStartup Weekend #19 is made possible thanks to the support of the City of Perth\, Spacecubed and Edith Cowan University.
