SUMMARY:Virtual Global Expert Program: Jennifer Head
DESCRIPTION:This session will explore how innovators can develop a credible and practical strategy for entering the NHS market. \nWhile many companies focus heavily on regulatory approval and clinical evidence\, successful NHS adoption depends on a much broader set of commercial\, operational\, and system-level factors. \nDrawing on real-world experience supporting MedTech innovators\, we will explore: \n\nHow NHS decision-making works across clinicians\, commissioners\, procurement teams\, and integrated care systems\nThe different commercial pathways into the NHS and how to determine which is most appropriate for your technology\nWhy strong clinical evidence alone is rarely enough to drive adoption\nCommon strategic mistakes innovators make when approaching the NHS market\nHow to realistically assess whether the NHS represents a viable and scalable commercial opportunity

SUMMARY:iPREP Biodesign program
DESCRIPTION:Round 1 industry applications close 23rd February. \nThe iPREP Biodesign program is a newly established initiative between iPREP WA and Perth Biodesign. The program is a collaboration across the Graduate Research Schools of The University Western Australia\, Curtin University\, Edith Cowan University\, Murdoch University and Notre Dame University. It has been developed to help bridge the ‘industry-research divide’ by linking the abilities of Australian Higher Degree by Research students to the development needs of progressive organisations. The program aims to grow Australian industries by harnessing research excellence and to provide students with paid industry placements to gain a competitive advantage across a broad range of future career paths. \nWhat will industry participants gain? \n– A multidisciplinary team of two or three PhD students\n– Cost effective\, potentially eligible for R&D tax incentive & subsidies\n– 100% ownership of intellectual property\n– Select students appropriate to your project and skill-gap\n– ‘Test-drive’ students prior to potential employment\n– A flexible participation mode (virtual\, in-person\, combination) \nProjects are defined by the organisation and can span over a 7 week or 3 month period. Projects may include new research\, proof-of-concept activities or tasks progressing commercial outputs. Students should not undertake day-to-day commercial activities but focus on a short-term research project related to their area of expertise. All Intellectual Property created during the project is retained by the organisation and creation of non-disclosure agreements is supported. \nFor queries\, contact the program manager michelle.luca@uwa.edu.au
