DESCRIPTION:Funding to create a national centre to support and grow the Australian quantum industry\nThe grant will provide funding to create a centre that will undertake industry growth activities to catalyse industry growth\, support collaborative research and strengthen Australia’s position as a global quantum leader. \n\n\nWhat do you get?\nUp to $18.5 million over 4 years for up to 75% of eligible project expenditure. \nWho is this for?\nBusinesses applying as a consortia with an eligible lead applicant. One of the consortia partners must be an Australian industry-based partner working in the quantum sector. \n\n\n\n\nOverview\n\nThe program was announced as part of the National Quantum Strategy and is an element of the Growing Australia’s Critical Technologies Industries budget measure announced in the 2023-2024 budget. \nThe Australian Centre for Quantum Growth (the Centre) will establish itself as a strongly branded\, single ‘front door’ for the quantum industry and broader quantum ecosystem in Australia. The Centre will build genuine\, strategic and lasting relationships spanning industry\, research\, consumer and government stakeholders to drive innovation and translation. It will accelerate the growth of the quantum industry in Australia and increase Australia’s global competitiveness by supporting greater collaboration and coordination of research and development\, focusing on industry-led solutions that boost the adoption and diffusion of technologies across Australian and international markets. \nThe Centre will build awareness and promote quantum technologies and their applications to end users. It will provide year-round all-weather access\, particularly where road access is unavailable or unreliable. This will: \n\nimprove the safety of aircraft\, operators and passengers using remote and very remote airstrips\nfacilitate improved delivery of essential goods and services such as food supplies\, health care\, community mail and passenger air services\ncomplement air services delivery to communities subsidised under the Australian Government’s Remote Aviation Access Program (RAAP) through the Remote Air Services Subsidy (RASS) Scheme\nmeet operational requirements of the RFDS or operators providing similar aeromedical services\n\nThe maximum grant amount is $3\,000\,000. \nThe grant will be up to 50% of eligible project costs\, unless: \n\nwhere the applicant (you) and a third party (could include State/Territory or local government\, or other entity are both contributing to eligible project costs\, the grant amount will be up to 33.3% of eligible project costs or\nwhere the applicant (you) meets the definition in these Guidelines as an Indigenous Owned and/or Operated Aerodrome\, the grant will be up to 100% of eligible project cost.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCheck if you can apply\n\nYou can apply if you meet the eligibility criteria.
