DESCRIPTION:The objective of this round is to provide funding support to Western Australian businesses to enhance their capacity\, capability and competitiveness to participate as suppliers of products\, services and works to state or local government agencies\, the Australian Government and the private sector. \nThis program provides funding to businesses in the Mid West region of WA to help them enhance their capacity\, capability and competitiveness. \nSubmissions close at 3:00PM 8 June 2023 (AWST). \n\nWho is this for?\nBusinesses in the Mid West region of WA. \n\n\n\nOverview\nFunding is available to help businesses enhance their capacity\, capability and competitiveness to participate as suppliers of products\, services and works to Western Australian state or local government agencies\, the Australian government and the private sector. \nEligible funding uses include: \n\nplanning and business advice\nimprovements to internal business infrastructure/systems\ntraining costs\npurchasing or modifying plant\, equipment and machinery\nspecialised motor vehicles e.g. bobcats\, forklifts\, cherry pickers\, back hoes\nspecialised computer software and hardware.\n\nFunding of up to $20\,000 (excluding GST) is available to cover 75% of eligible costs.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: New Industries Fund: X-TEND WA
DESCRIPTION:X-TEND WA will fund organisations that deliver innovator and/or investor educational programs that support the development of entrepreneurs and stimulate private investment in innovative projects in WA. The New Industries Fund will co-contribute up to $100\,000 per successful application. Applications close on Tuesday\, 28 March 2023 at 11am (AWST). \nApplications should deliver activities in one or 2 of the following streams: \n1. entrepreneurial education\n2. investor education\n3. Heath and Life Sciences capability building \nThey may take the form of educational forums\, workshops\, mentoring\, and incubator and accelerator programs. \nProposed programs must be delivered in WA over 12 months and contribute towards the growth of the innovation community. SUMMARY:DEADLINE: Innovation Booster Grant
DESCRIPTION:The Innovation Booster Grant is a competitive funding grant for eligible Western Australian-based startups and small businesses. It is aimed at helping innovators to overcome some of the barriers to commercialisation. \nTo be eligible\, your organisation must be a WA-based startup or small business that employs between one and 25 people. \nRecent updates to the IBG: The IBG has doubled the maximum grant amount to $40\,000\, to increase the impact of each grant. Recipients can request 50% upfront\, rather than producing the money themselves\, allowing them to claim the remaining 50% back after the project is completed. They can also now use internal resources to complete their project\, rather than requiring the use of an external third-party service provider.

DESCRIPTION:Congratulations to this year’s WA IOTY finalists. 12 finalists were chosen in both the Rio Tinto Emerging and Rio Tinto Growth categories in 2022. In addition to the program finalists\, there was a further 12 finalists across the three Platinum Award categories: Business News ‘Great for the State’\, Wesfarmers Wellbeing and Woodside Energy. \nThe winner of each category will be announced at an awards ceremony on Monday 5 December\, 2022. \nPrior to this event occurring\, all finalists are invited to attend a suite of commercialisation training in topics such as accountancy\, IP protection\, a legal health check\, social media and marketing\, grant writing\, pitching and more.
