EURAXESS Australia & New Zealand is an initiative of the European Commission that connects researchers, innovators, and organisations in Australia and New Zealand with Europe. We provide free information on research funding, career opportunities, international collaboration, and networking opportunities.

This session will provide an overview of Horizon Europe, with a focus on Pillar II (Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness). It will highlight opportunities for Australian quantum research groups, start-ups, and industry partners, recent developments in EU–Australia research cooperation, and practical pathways for engaging in collaborative projects with European partners.

The session will explain the structure of relevant calls, consortium requirements, and key funding considerations, and present examples of successful projects. It will also introduce the Horizon Europe evaluation criteria and outline practical steps participants can take to prepare for upcoming calls.
