DEADLINE: SPARC Awards 2027
The program will recognise and support promising research through funding of up to $200,000 and bespoke coaching from highly specialised experts for up to 18 months, guiding projects towards or facilitating entry into the early clinical stage.
The purpose of the SPARC Awards 2027 Request for Applications (RFA) is to:
- Identify projects that address a clearly articulated, global unmet need for the diagnosis, prevention, treatment or management of T1D, and have strong commercial potential.
- Foster multidisciplinary collaboration among research teams, funders, industry and the T1D community.
- Support high potential projects to reduce defined translational risks and progress towards early clinical development through a commercialisation pathway.
Breakthrough T1D and Cicada Innovations will work alongside the funded teams to strengthen commercial capability and facilitate engagement with relevant, industry, investment clinical, community and government stakeholders.
Successful awardees will receive project funding together with bespoke, specialised mentoring and capability building delivered by experienced commercialisation experts throughout the program ensuring that awardees receive ongoing guidance and support.
Awardees will work with commercialisation experts, funding and industry partners to further validate their research and its commercial potential and refine possible pathways to impact in a clinical setting. The goal is to strive toward the development stage, with a high probability to receive follow-on funding and industry interest.
