AIE – South West Study Tour: Experience Energy in Action

What does the energy transition look like on the ground?
Join AIE for a tour (one or two days) to explore how industry, communities and energy infrastructure are evolving together, from waste recovery and microgrids to regenerative agriculture and off-grid living. This is a field experience.
- One-day option, Tuesday 10 November: Depart Perth by coach and visit Richgro Garden Products, Peel Business Park and the Kwinana Energy Recovery Facility. After the final visit, participants will be dropped at Mandurah train station at approximately 2:45 pm to return to Perth by train.
- Circular economy in action – tour large-scale organic waste digestion and renewable energy generation system
- Microgrid innovation – see how an embedded network and distributed energy are supporting a new industrial precinct
- Waste-to-energy at scale – visit one of WA’s most significant energy recovery facilities
- Two-day option, Tuesday 10 to Wednesday 11 November: Includes the full Day 1 program, followed by the journey to Margaret River, one night of accommodation and the Day 2 visits to Witchcliffe Ecovillage and Tiller Farm. The coach is scheduled to return to Perth at approximately 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
- Sustainable communities – walk through Witchcliffe Ecovillage and explore its integrated approaches to energy, water and sustainable living
- Regenerative food and off-grid living – hear from George at Tiller Farm and explore an off-grid farm and dining venue
