ACIS 2026 Industry Day: Academic & Industry AI Solutions

1 December @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm AWST

The Industry Day combines an industry keynote, hands-on workshops and networking in a highly interactive program designed to create meaningful exchange between academia and industry.

Participants will work together on challenges proposed by four AI industry players to experiment with emerging approaches, develop practical solutions, and explore the opportunities and complexities of AI adoption in organisations.

Workshops and Case Studies:

  • Industry Case Study Presentation – Australian Computer Society
  • Industry Case Study Presentation – University of New South Wales (UNSW)
  • Visagio [Workshop] – AI Adoption: The Good, the Bad and the Unknown: What happens when enterprise AI moves beyond the pilot? Explore the realities of cost, scaling, governance, risk and failure.
  • WADSIH [Workshop] – AI Prototyling: How to turn an industry-framed challenge into a working AI prototype? Explore the journey from research idea to deployable solution
  • Twenty2Collective [Workshop] – The Co-AI Lab: How is it like to have AI as an active member of your team? Frame real organisational problems and develop credible first solution sketches.
  • Mentor it Forward [Workshop] – The Human Algorithm: Where is the boundary between humans and AI? Explore hands-on human-led and AI-amplified essential experiences.

The four workshops, taking place concurrently, offer complementary perspectives on AI in practice, from enterprise AI adoption and rapid prototyping to collaborative human-AI problem-solving and the role of human judgement, trust and connection.
