SUMMARY:Site visit: Oceaneering subsea engineering facility
DESCRIPTION:Explore the Future of Subsea Engineering and Offshore Technology with Oceaneering. Join us for an exclusive industrial visit to Oceaneering Australia\, a global leader in subsea engineering\, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) technology\, asset integrity management\, and offshore engineering solutions. Operating from its Jandakot facility in Western Australia\, Oceaneering develops and delivers innovative technologies that support the inspection\, maintenance\, repair\, and integrity management of critical subsea infrastructure for the offshore energy industry. \nHosted by the Engineers Australia Mechanical College\, this industrial visit offers a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights from Oceaneering engineers into the engineering challenges associated with operating and maintaining subsea assets in some of the world’s most demanding environments. Participants will develop an understanding of the complexity of subsea pipeline inspection and repair activities\, including the influence of deepwater conditions\, corrosion\, accessibility\, operational risks\, and stringent safety requirements. \nThe visit will also provide valuable exposure to the role of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and other advanced submersible technologies used for subsea inspection\, intervention\, and repair\, highlighting how these systems enable engineers to safely perform complex offshore operations that would otherwise be impossible for human divers.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: Propel Accelerator Cohort 1
DESCRIPTION:Applications for Propel Cohort 1 close this Friday\, 25 September. \nFor most ocean ventures\, getting the technology to work is only part of the job. The harder part is commercial: finding the customer who has the problem\, moving a pilot over the line\, and knowing the key people\, enablers and potential challenges before you enter a new market. \nPropel is a six-month accelerator for ocean technology ventures with validated solutions that are preparing for growth\, industry pilots or capital raising.\nVentures get direct connections to industry partners and potential customers across ports\, subsea operations\, autonomous systems\, ocean data and maritime logistics\, along with warm introductions to Australian and international investors. Support covers customer acquisition strategy\, pilot structuring\, procurement engagement and investor readiness. \nThere’s no fixed curriculum. Propel is tailored to each company\, with support shaped around where the business is at and what it needs to move to the next stage. On top of that\, companies take part in two public industry and investor showcases and get supported pathways into export markets. \nWe’re looking for ventures in seven categories: \n→ Autonomous and unmanned systems\n→ Port and coastal infrastructure\n→ Underwater and subsea technologies\n→ Propulsion and energy systems\n→ AI\, data and decision support\n→ Logistics\, sustainment and supply chain\n→ Oceanography and environmental monitoring \nVentures can apply from WA\, elsewhere in Australia\, or overseas.
