SUMMARY:JTSI Workshop – Getting the Business Model Straight Workshop with Justin Davies
DESCRIPTION:Many startup founders really struggle to be clear on all aspects of their business model. \nIt seems to be just as difficult for established business owners with a new product or idea – or for the founder of a startup. There are so many variables to consider. \nThe lean canvas is a tool that enables us to easily see an entire business model on a page. \nThe canvas provides a map of your business model and covers the the problem\, the approach on how to sell\, how to price\, considering costs\, product benefits\, unique value proposition and more. \nThis tool can be incredibly valuable at all stages of the commercialisation journey; from communicating the idea during customer research\, to refocusing on what is important in bringing the solution to market\, and to outlining the approach for grant funding or for investors. \nThis session will help you get really clear on your business model providing you with a lean canvas as a one page action plan for your business.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: Innovation Booster Grant
DESCRIPTION:The Innovation Booster Grant (IBG) is a competitive Western Australian government grant\, funded through the $25.8 million New Industries Fund which sits under the Department of Jobs\, Tourism\, Science and Innovation (JTSI). Prior to 2022\, it was known as the ‘Innovation Vouchers Program’. \nThe Innovation Booster Grant (IBG) is a competitive funding grant\, designed to provide WA-based startups and small businesses with the financial boost needed to access professional skills\, services or knowledge\, to advance their innovative idea\, project or commercial activity in Western Australia. \nThe WA Government recognises that innovative startups and small businesses have great ideas\, but taking these ideas and turning them into new and sustainable business opportunities with real commercial outcomes can be difficult. \nThe program is designed to assist innovators to overcome some of the barriers on the path to commercialisation. It aims to build new relationships between innovators\, research providers and specialist commercialisation support services\, or to move tentative collaborations into a productive relationship. \nCut-off dates:\nAlthough the IBG program is open all year round\, there are various ‘cut-off dates’ when the latest submissions will be downloaded\, and then assessed. \nSubmitted applications cannot be changed after this date. If your application is not ready for assessment\, simply continue working on it\, without pressing ‘submit’. \nThe upcoming ‘cut-off dates’ are: \n\n11am (AWST)\, Thursday\, 15 August 2024\n11am (AWST)\, Thursday\, 17 October 2024
