Sundowner Event 2023: Going Off Grid
29 March 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm AWST
FreeIn collaboration with India Energy Storage Alliance, WA’s Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and Innovate Australia, the Australia Microgrid Centre of Excellence is hosting a “sundowner” event to occur 29-March from 4pm-6pm.
The main topic is “Going Off Grid”, in which microgrids can support sustainability, reliable and cost-effective energy management within a geographic footprint. “If you can fence it – you can microgrid it.” This event will present how coastal and regional energy management systems can isolate from the traditional power grid while maintaining stable energy supply. Microgrids are common in small, regional communities and coastal towns where the larger grid becomes expensive, and many times, non-existent.

The Australian Microgrid Centre of Excellence (AMCOE) is a not-for-profit organization which will operate a physical facility that provides resources enabling the development and implementation of reliable, economic and sustainable energy solutions. It will also act as a center of activity and coordination for the many organizations (public, private, commercial, non-profit, and academic) in Perth that are addressing distributed or remote energy issues. AMCOE is the first of several regional smart energy centers to be proposed by government and industry and will help create the technologies, jobs and skilled workforce that will renew this nation’s economy.
