DESCRIPTION:ClimateLaunchpad will help you take the first steps to shape your green or sustainable idea into a business\, build a plan\, craft a compelling pitch\, and turn early vision into real-world impact. \nHave a green business or idea you want to develop further? Then join our competition. You don’t need a business plan yet\, early ideas are welcome. The programme is free and all applicants get free access to an online green start-up mini-course. Accepted participants get a 3-day boot camp\, mentoring\, and the chance to compete in National and Regional finals. Top performers win a trip to the Global Grand Final in Singapore. \nAustralian Cohort information: available to any resident across the whole country who is able to make their way to Sydney for the 11-13 of June (and on the 25th of July for the Pitch Event). Bootcamps will run over three days in the afternoon from 2-8pm. After boot camps and training\, all teams will have the opportunity to pitch in front of judges\, with the top 1 securing a trip to attend the Global Grand Final (but not pitch) and the top 3 will then will move onto the Regional Finals\, which will be held virtually on August 29. At the Regional finals teams will pitch to industry-renowned judges and the top 2 teams are chosen to compete in the Global Grand Final in Vienna

DESCRIPTION:Administered by the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification\, the Grant will support the scaleup and expansion of spaceport businesses in the State\, increasing local space industry capability development and fostering a vibrant and sustainable space ecosystem in WA. \nA spaceport is a site equipped for launching\, receiving\, testing\, or maintaining spacecraft and rockets. \nThe WA Government’s co-investment will support site assessments required for planning and regulatory approvals\, including securing a lease for a proposed spaceport site\, and/or the development of a business case for the proposed spaceport site. \nApplicants may apply for up to $1.75 million in funding to support the establishment of a space launch facility in WA\, with a minimum grant application value of $200\,000. The funding may be awarded to one applicant or split to support multiple applicants. \nApplicants are also required to provide matched funding of at least 1:1 against the WA Government funding request. \n

DESCRIPTION:Western Australia’s (WA) Innovators of the Year awards program recognises local businesses\, government entities and young people that have developed an outstanding innovative product\, technology or service.\nIn 2024\, a new WA Government Innovators of the Year Award was introduced to acknowledge Western Australian government entity employees who are innovating\, creating novel IP and adding value to public service delivery. For the purposes of this program\, Western Australian government entities include Local and State Government departments\, and Government Trading Enterprises. The objectives of the WA Government Innovators of the Year Award are to: \n\nIdentify and celebrate Western Australian Government Entity Employees (local and state departments) and Government Trading Entities\nEncourage innovation within the public sector to improve efficiencies for Western Australia.
