Project Jupiter: WA’s path to virtual power plants at scale – lessons from project initiation

You’re invited to an industry webinar, hosted by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, introducing Project Jupiter, Western Australia’s major DER integration initiative, delivered in partnership by Western Power, Synergy, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), and Energy Policy WA, with support from ARENA.

Now six months into delivery, Project Jupiter is already generating valuable insights from its initiation phase, laying the groundwork to scale customer energy participation through virtual power plants (VPPs) and addressing the technical, market and regulatory changes needed to support this transition.

This session will highlight key takeaways from the project’s first two milestone reports:

• Vision and Impact Pathway Report – A shared, stakeholder-informed vision for DER integration, including a framework to measure impact and track progress toward scale.
• The National Alignment Report – Identifying how Project Jupiter complements national Consumer Energy Resource (CER) initiatives and where alignment with the NEM presents opportunities for collaboration.

The session will feature speakers from the Project Jupiter Team who will present key insights and respond to audience questions.
