SUMMARY:Australians Investing in Women Roundtable [Perth]
DESCRIPTION:When Australians Investing In Women launched our 2025 strategic roadmap\, we made a clear commitment to strengthening gender lens investing in Australia and helping shift more capital towards women and girls. \nThis can’t be designed in isolation. Next month\, we will travel be travelling around the country for a series of Gender Lens Investing Consultation Roundtables. \nWe’ll be listening and learning from the people working across Australia’s investment ecosystem\, including investors\, institutions\, banks\, funders\, foundations and other capital allocators. We want to understand what’s already working. Where the barriers are. What investors need to confidently apply a gender lens. And where AIIW and the broader ecosystem can add the greatest value. \nThese conversations will help inform how we support the continued development of gender lens investing in Australia\, grounded in the experiences and needs of those doing\, exploring and influencing this work. \nOur role is not to have all the answers. It is to bring people together\, listen carefully and help turn collective knowledge into collective action. Registrations are now open\, with places limited in each city. Find your city and submit your expression of interest

SUMMARY:[Engineers Australia Webinar] Perception and localisation for space robots
DESCRIPTION:Operating robotic systems on the Moon and Mars presents engineering challenges unlike anywhere on Earth.\nWithout GPS\, reliable communications\, or predictable environmental conditions\, space robots must independently understand their surroundings\, determine their location\, and safely navigate complex terrain while operating in high-risk environments where failure is not an option. \nThis webinar explores how researchers at QUT’s Centre for Robotics are advancing perception\, localisation\, and autonomous navigation technologies for the next generation of planetary exploration missions. Drawing on work supporting Roo-ver\, Australia’s first lunar rover\, attendees will learn how engineers are tackling the challenges of GPS-denied navigation\, terrain assessment\, sensor integration\, and decision-making in extreme environments. \nThe session will also showcase the role of advanced robotics\, artificial intelligence\, and real-world testing environments in developing systems capable of operating beyond Earth. Through insights from QUT’s state-of-the-art lunar testbed\, Yandiwanba\, attendees will gain an understanding of how emerging technologies are being tested and validated before deployment in mission-critical applications. \nWhether your interest lies in robotics\, autonomous systems\, AI\, defence\, mining\, infrastructure\, or the future of space exploration\, this webinar will provide practical insights into the engineering innovations shaping the next frontier of autonomous operations.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: 2026 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap Exposure Consultation
DESCRIPTION:Consultation is now open on the Exposure Draft of the 2026 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap (the Roadmap). National research infrastructure (NRI) underpins Australia’s sovereign research and development capability. Providing infrastructure to advance research and its applications requires strategic foresight and long-term planning. NRI roadmaps have been developed every 5 years since 2006. \nThe NRI Roadmap Expert Working Group (EWG)\, a subgroup of the NRI Advisory Group\, has developed this Exposure Draft and is releasing it for public consultation. \nUsed by more than 100\,000 Australian researchers and 30\,000 international users\, Australia’s NRI network spans infrastructure supported by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS)\, as well as facilities supported by state and territory governments\, research funding agencies\, universities\, research organisations\, and the private sector. Australia’s NRI includes engagement with international research infrastructures. \nThis Exposure Draft has been informed by extensive consultation\, including responses to a public survey and Issues Paper\, which together received over 800 submissions. This input\, together with targeted engagement with sector and government stakeholders\, has helped identify emerging trends\, opportunities and priorities that will influence research infrastructure requirements over the next 5-10 years. \nHave your say: Australia’s NRI stakeholders are strongly encouraged to provide their views through this online survey. The survey comprises 16 questions on the Exposure Draft – all are optional. All stakeholder input will support the EWG and Department of Education as we work towards presenting the final 2026 NRI Roadmap to Government by the end of 2026.\n\nTownhall Registration \nThe EWG will host public Townhall webinars to present the Exposure Draft and background context. Both webinars will cover the same material. Townhall webinar dates/times: \n\nMonday 28 September 2026\, 2:00pm to 2:45pm AEST\nTuesday 6 October 2026\, 12:30pm to 1:15pm AEDT
