SUMMARY:Atlassian Community Event Perth 2026
DESCRIPTION:ACE Perth is back – and this time\, we’re talking AI\nAI is changing the way we work – fast. But what happens when AI moves from being a tool you use to becoming part of your team? \nFor one night in Perth\, we’re bringing senior Atlassian leaders Jono Ross and Alana Dyson together to unpack where the future of teamwork is heading – and give Perth direct access to insights we don’t often get on the west coast. \n\nSee AI in action. Alana will present Accelerating Outcomes with Rovo: Search\, Chat & Agents in Action\, showing how AI can search across organisational knowledge\, work alongside teams and use agents to actually get work done.\nHear what’s coming next. Jono and Alana will explore the future of teamwork\, human + AI collaboration and why trust\, security and governance are quickly becoming the next big conversation.\nThen we bring it back to WA. Hear from leaders representing some of WA’s best-known organisations and major global enterprises about how they’re actually approaching AI – what’s working\, what’s holding them back\, and how it’s changing their businesses. Panellists revealed soon.\n\nBring your questions for the audience Q&A – and if you want to dive deeper into AI trust and governance\, you’ll have the opportunity to register for a follow-up session with Atlassian’s Trust team. \nThen stick around for free drinks\, pizza and networking with Atlassian\, our panellists and some of Perth’s leading technology and business people. \nYou don’t need to be an Atlassian expert. If you’re thinking about AI\, technology or the future of work\, this one’s for you. \n⚡ Free event. Limited places. Registration essential. \nHosted by Atlassian & Interfuze Consulting – WA’s only Atlassian Gold Solution Partner. Proudly supported by the City of Perth through its Economic Development Sponsorship Program. \nFeaturing \nJono Ross\, Teamwork & AI Collaboration Lead\, Atlassian ANZ\nJono works with organisations across Australia and New Zealand to rethink how teams collaborate and get work done. With a focus on the future of teamwork and AI-enabled collaboration\, he helps organisations connect strategy with execution\, reduce unnecessary busywork and explore how people and AI can work together more effectively. \nAlana Dyson\, Senior Customer Success Architect – Rovo\, Atlassian\nAlana specialises in AI-driven solutions and enterprise transformation\, helping organisations turn AI from an emerging technology into a practical\, everyday capability. She works with complex organisations to identify high-value AI use cases\, rethink existing ways of working and use Atlassian Rovo to help teams find knowledge\, automate work and achieve better outcomes.

SUMMARY:IN:WA Panel - Working Harder\, Not Smarter. Are We Burning Out the Industry?
DESCRIPTION:The next 2026 IN:WA Panelist event lands on Thursday 15th October at Lawson Flats. \n\n\n\n\nA space for independent agency leaders and industry voices to have honest conversations about what’s shaping our sector. Each IN:WA Panel session brings together experienced operators and external perspectives to challenge thinking and spark real discussion. \nOpen to both IN:WA Members and Non-Members alike! Come to connect\, contribute\, and experience the IN:WA community firsthand. \nIN:WA is bringing together industry experts to discuss the topic: Working Harder\, Not Smarter. Are We Burning Out the Industry? \nAsk anyone in agency life how they’re going and you’ll hear some version of “busy.” More channels\, faster turnarounds\, thinner margins\, always-on communication. But is the industry genuinely harder than it used to be\, or are we just running it the same way we always have while the world around it has changed? \nThis panel brings together three perspectives you don’t usually get in the same room: someone who’s lived through decades of industry culture\, someone who’s just entered it\, and someone who sees the clinical patterns across workplaces like these. \nIN:WA provides a united voice for Western-Australian-owned businesses across the breadth of the creative communications industry\, including Advertising\, Branding\, Digital\, Media\, PR and Production.

SUMMARY:Future Textiles CRC Industry Workshop WA
DESCRIPTION:About the Future Textiles CRC \nAustralia is a major producer of high-quality natural fibres\, yet much of this value is exported before downstream processing\, while most finished textile products are imported. Domestic manufacturing capability has declined\, supply chains are fragmented\, and Australia lacks sufficient scale-up\, sorting and recycling capability to capture emerging opportunities in advanced fibres\, technical textiles\, traceability and circular business models. \nThe Future Textiles CRC will provide a national platform connecting fibre producers\, manufacturers\, designers\, brands\, retailers\, recyclers\, researchers\, governments and communities to build a more competitive\, advanced\, circular and resilient Australian textile system. It will support innovation across the full value chain\, from fibre production and manufacturing through to use\, repair\, reuse\, recovery and recycling\, while building the infrastructure\, workforce and collaborative capability needed to retain more value in Australia and create new commercial opportunities. \nThe aim of the industry workshop is to provide an overview of the Future Textiles CRC’s Research Programs – Creating Better Textiles\, Keeping Textiles in Use\, Recovering Textile Value – and seek industry’s inputs and feedback in shaping the research within the CRC. \nFuture Textiles CRC welcomes participation from industries whose interests align with one or more of the Research Programs and the role they can play to help position Australia as a high-value centre for circular textile innovation\, demonstration and commercialisation.

SUMMARY:Space as a Laboratory for Australian Innovation
DESCRIPTION:Engineers are trained to see constraints as problems to be solved. In space\, those constraints include radiation\, isolation\, distance\, microgravity and extreme environments. Hear from Australian astronaut and 2026 Australian of the Year Katherine Bennell-Pegg on how these same challenges can be powerful opportunities for discovery\, innovation and technological advancement. \nKatherine will showcase how the unique conditions of space are a laboratory unlike any other. She will highlight how space-based experimentation is advancing fields including radiation science\, advanced materials\, biomedical engineering\, automation\, remote operations\, quantum technologies\, manufacturing and critical minerals processing. These insights are helping researchers and engineers better understand complex systems\, develop new technologies and test ideas that would be difficult or impossible to explore on Earth. \nFor Australia’s engineering community\, the implications are significant. As access to space-based research and manufacturing expands\, engineers will play a critical role in translating discoveries into real-world products\, infrastructure\, services\, and industries.

SUMMARY:IP Protection for Clinical Research & Health Innovations: What researchers need to know
DESCRIPTION:A strong clinical discovery can lose its path to translation if intellectual property is not considered early enough. Knowing when\, why and how to protect an idea is often the difference between a research project that stays in the lab and one that reaches patients. \nFeaturing Prof Victoria Cogger (CEO\, Sydney Biomedical Accelerator)\, Michael Powell (Commercialisation Manager\, WSLHD)\, Adam Wardell (Industry Growth Program Advisor) and Sylvie Tso (Partner\, Spruson & Ferguson)\, Cicada Innovations is delivering this session with Kids Research/SCHN for clinicians\, researchers and health innovators working on translational projects and emerging health technologies who want a clearer view of how IP protection fits into the work.\nIt covers the practical questions: when protection matters\, why it matters\, and how to approach it in a clinical research setting. Registration is open to all interested attendees. \nBy the end of the masterclass\, you’ll know: \n\nWhen and why to consider IP protection across clinical research\, translational projects and emerging health technologies\nHow clinicians and researchers can approach IP decisions in practice\nThe answers to your live questions during the Q&A\n\nWho it’s for: Clinicians\, researchers\, allied health staff and hospital staff looking to commercialise their research from the public hospital system.
