SUMMARY:Real-time fundraising adventures with Drew Pflaum (SavvyWise)
DESCRIPTION:In this session\, Drew Pflaum\, co-founder and CEO of SavvyWise\, will share a candid founder journey from idea to early traction\, including the lessons\, mistakes\, trade-offs\, and decisions that shaped the company’s first six months.\nIn July 2025\, SavvyWise was just an idea. By September\, the team had launched an MVP. By October\, they had their first paying customer. The months that followed brought a rapid series of milestones: winning the Venture UWA incubator\, passing $100k in sales\, completing several capital raises\, and seeing the company’s valuation grow across each round. \nBut behind those headline numbers is the more useful story: how the idea came together\, how the team found early customers\, what they learned from investors\, and how they managed the pressure of building while fundraising. \nAbout Drew:\nDrew Pflaum\, CPA\, is the co-founder and CEO of SavvyWise. Before starting SavvyWise\, Drew was a Director at Perth-based accounting firm Munro’s\, and brings a background in accounting\, advisory\, and business strategy to his work as a startup founder\, combining commercial experience with the hands-on realities of building a new company from scratch.

SUMMARY:Australia’s Environmental Data Mosaic: from complexity to national advantage
DESCRIPTION:Australia’s environmental evidence is expanding faster than our ability to assemble it. Satellites\, sensors\, ranger programs\, Defence monitoring and research infrastructures are generating unprecedented data. But fragmentation means critical insights remain locked in silos. \nMajor national decisions now depend on rapid\, trusted environmental intelligence. From the upcoming State of the Environment Report to Defence estate stewardship\, disaster‑risk planning and state land management\, organisations need data that is findable\, interoperable and ready for use at scale. \nThe cost of inaction is rising. Without a connected environmental data ecosystem\, Australia risks slower responses\, weaker accountability and missed opportunities to build sovereign capability in environmental intelligence. \nThis webinar brings together three speakers to confront a central question: how do we turn a fragmented environmental data landscape into a connected\, resilient\, national‑scale capability that serves reporting\, operations and long‑term stewardship? If you care about the long-term health of Australia’s land and the institutions that steward it\, this is a conversation you will not want to miss.

SUMMARY:MRIWA Tech Talks: Mineralisation Controls in the Fraser Zone
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging MRIWA Tech Talk highlighting Project M0470a\, a multi-scale investigation into the controls on mineralisation within the Fraser Zone—one of Western Australia’s most prospective yet least understood geological regions. \nThe project addresses major knowledge gaps by moving from broad orogen-scale interpretations to detailed structural\, geochemical and isotopic analyses aimed at identifying mineralisation pathways and diagnostic geochemical fingerprints. Conducted in conjunction with the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA)\, this collaborative effort brings together leading expertise to provide a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of this complex terrain. \nOur speaker\, Professor Katy Evans of Curtin University\, Lead Investigator on the project\, will share insights from her team’s multidisciplinary work and discuss how these findings can sharpen exploration decision‑making and enhance discovery potential across the state. ] \nAttendees will gain a richer appreciation of how this research strengthens Western Australia’s exploration capability\, supports innovation\, and contributes to long‑term value for industry and the broader community.
