SUMMARY:Core Connect: Start IDEAS Night
DESCRIPTION:3 startups\, 3 even greater ideas! \nJoin CORE Innovation Hub to explore some of the big ideas in the energy and mining sector. Free entry to CORE & Spacecubed members! \nCORE Connect Conversation Series will see a mixture of guest speakers and panel style events tackle some of the big questions facing the energy and mining sector and explore solutions and pathways to create a bigger and more sustainable future for the energy and mining industry. \nTHIS MONTH WE HAVE CORE START IDEAS NIGHT! \nJoin CORE Innovation Hub for a very special CORE Connect featuring our Round 1 2023 CORE Start Participants. \nFor 12 weeks three innovators have taken part in an entrepreneurial mentorship program designed to help founders uncover new pathways to growth. The program culminates in an Ideas Night where founders share their idea to shape the future of energy and mining\, helping the sector to transition as fast as possible. \nCome along\, hear some new ideas\, be inspired and vote on your favourite pitch! Mark your calendars\, and make sure to join us for some drinks\, nibbles\, and conversation! \nMEET THE COMPANIES \n+ ECONOMICAL ENERGY +\nRenewable energy is gaining momentum as a sustainable solution for the world’s growing energy needs. However\, one of the biggest challenges with renewable energy is its intermittency\, as the sun doesn’t always shine\, and the wind doesn’t always blow. This is where energy storage comes into play\, providing a solution to store excess renewable energy and release it when needed. \nAmong the various energy storage technologies\, Economical Energy’s VIPER technology stands out as a revolutionary approach that leverages well-understood physics and engineering principles to provide cheap\, clean\, and continuous energy storage. \n+ ORBLIN DYNAMICS +\nAngelo Paoliello is the CEO and lead engineer of Orblin Dynamics\, a mining research company based in Sawyer’s Valley. With a passion for innovation and problem-solving\, Angelo has developed a revolutionary technology in the form of a rock sample pulverisation machine for assay laboratories. \nThe main problem addressed by Angelo’s technology is the industry’s reliance on mechanical counterweight pulley and bearing systems\, which are prone to metal fatigue and bearing failure in the harsh rock dust environment. Angelo’s solution is a magnetic direct drive bearingless orbital motor\, offering a more reliable and efficient approach to rock sample pulverisation. \n+ VILOTA +\nMeet Brenton Welford. Brenton is the co-founder of Vilota\, a provider of positioning solutions for GPS denied environments\, utilizing visual locational data. Brenton has spent the last ten years building companies which utilize drones\, robots\, 3D special data\, and autonomous vehicles to address some of the big problems in mining\, energy\, and smart-cities. \nHis latest venture\, Vilota solves localisation challenges in the mining\, construction\, robotics\, drones and mobility industries. They design and manufacture Visual Positioning Systems (VPS) which output precise position without GNSS\, extending the limitations of localisation in obstructed environments. Their 3D visual sensing solutions provide businesses the opportunity to develop their own robotic applications. This is made possible by creating standalone perception systems which are modular\, accessible and reliable
