SUMMARY:PropaGATE Innovator Showcase: Spotlighting the Innovators shaping the future of AgriFood wastewater management in WA
DESCRIPTION:PropaGATE is a challenge-led innovation program that scouts the world for commercial-ready wastewater technology and brings it to Western Australia’s food and fibre processors. It is a government and industry backed Landing Pad program supporting WA’s agrifood industries to access innovative technologies and stay competitive. Landing pads find the right technology\, connect it with local industry\, and support a path to adoption in WA for the benefit of local business. \nAt our showcase you will see that in action twice in one evening. First see Hydro-leap an innovative wastewater technical solution scouted through PropaGATE in action on site at Spinifex Brewery\, part of the Food Innovation Precinct. Then come and hear how four innovators\, selected from a global field\, plan to level up wastewater management in meat processing\, from nutrient reduction to water reuse and resource recovery. \nIt is a chance to see what proven\, commercialised solutions actually look like\, meet the people behind the technology\, and talk through what they could mean for your operation.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: 2026 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap Exposure Consultation
DESCRIPTION:Consultation is now open on the Exposure Draft of the 2026 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap (the Roadmap). National research infrastructure (NRI) underpins Australia’s sovereign research and development capability. Providing infrastructure to advance research and its applications requires strategic foresight and long-term planning. NRI roadmaps have been developed every 5 years since 2006. \nThe NRI Roadmap Expert Working Group (EWG)\, a subgroup of the NRI Advisory Group\, has developed this Exposure Draft and is releasing it for public consultation. \nUsed by more than 100\,000 Australian researchers and 30\,000 international users\, Australia’s NRI network spans infrastructure supported by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS)\, as well as facilities supported by state and territory governments\, research funding agencies\, universities\, research organisations\, and the private sector. Australia’s NRI includes engagement with international research infrastructures. \nThis Exposure Draft has been informed by extensive consultation\, including responses to a public survey and Issues Paper\, which together received over 800 submissions. This input\, together with targeted engagement with sector and government stakeholders\, has helped identify emerging trends\, opportunities and priorities that will influence research infrastructure requirements over the next 5-10 years. \nHave your say: Australia’s NRI stakeholders are strongly encouraged to provide their views through this online survey. The survey comprises 16 questions on the Exposure Draft – all are optional. All stakeholder input will support the EWG and Department of Education as we work towards presenting the final 2026 NRI Roadmap to Government by the end of 2026.\n\nTownhall Registration \nThe EWG will host public Townhall webinars to present the Exposure Draft and background context. Both webinars will cover the same material. Townhall webinar dates/times: \n\nMonday 28 September 2026\, 2:00pm to 2:45pm AEST\nTuesday 6 October 2026\, 12:30pm to 1:15pm AEDT

SUMMARY:What the Post Quantum Cryptography Transition Means for Your Business
DESCRIPTION:Quantum computing is advancing\, and organisations need to start preparing for its impact on today’s encryption. \n\n\n\n\nPost-quantum cryptography (PQC) requires a multi-year business transition. Public-key cryptography is embedded across digital services\, identities\, cloud platforms\, devices\, software and supply chains. SUMMARY:Technology helping to feed the world
DESCRIPTION:Technology is transforming how the world produces food. Autonomous machinery\, precision sensors\, AI crop monitoring and genetic improvements are all helping farmers grow more with less environmental impact.\n\n\n\nDrawing on real examples from Australian agriculture and beyond\, this talk will discuss how automation\, robotics and clever design are helping farming stay productive and adaptable in the face of a changing climate\, labour shortages and rising demand for food.\nWesley Moss is a lecturer across UWA’s School of Agriculture and Environment and School of Engineering. As an agricultural engineer\, he builds technology that makes farming more sustainable – from machinery design and AI to smarter ways of managing crops and weeds. He is also the Ag Tech Theme Lead at UWA’s Centre for Engineering Innovation. Wesley is passionate about showing agriculture is anything but low-tech\, and works with primary\, secondary and tertiary students to promote all things Ag Tech.

SUMMARY:The Mandarin Live: Future Ready Public Service – Western Australia
DESCRIPTION:Western Australia is at a defining moment. Structural reform\, record infrastructure investment\, an accelerating energy transition\, AUKUS and the urgency of digital transformation have created a convergence of pressure and opportunities unlike any other state in the country and the demand for a new kind of public sector leadership has never been stronger.\nThe Mandarin Live: Future Ready Public Service Western Australia cuts straight to the practical question: what does it actually take to lead a future-ready public sector agency right now? \nAcross two days\, WA’s public sector leaders come together to move deliberately from current state to future action on structural reform\, digital capability\, workforce readiness and government-industry partnership. Not in principle. In practice. \nDelegates leave with sharper clarity on where the WA public service is headed\, stronger connections with the leaders navigating the same terrain\, and concrete actions they can implement from day one.
