DESCRIPTION:Have you got ideas for addressing waste water challenges?\nKeen to connect with south west breweries and wineries?\nJoin us on the 4th November for an exciting innovation challenge in the beautiful Margaret River region\, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to help solve waste water challenges that are impacting on the sustainability of south west wineries and breweries.\nWhat’s involved? \nThis innovation challenge will bring together breweries\, wineries\, researchers\, government\, startups and relevant service providers to develop ideas for potential solutions that can then be taken through to commercialisation. \nThe event will include guest speakers from wineries\, breweries\, service providers and regulators to provide details on the problem and gaps in the market. Participants will work in teams to develop new ideas using a facilitated design thinking process.  Subject matter experts will be on hand to guide teams and provide feedback on new ideas. Follow up mentoring will be provided to take selected ideas through to potential commercialisation. \nA networking sundowner will follow at CBCo Brewery (fmr Colonial Brewery) with investors and key stakeholders. \nWho should attend? \n\n   Researchers focused on waste water management\n   Startups developing new innovations for waste water\n   Service providers to wineries and breweries\n   Winery and brewery owners or managers\n   Government bodies supporting waste water management and beverage production\n\nPrep required: A more detailed problem statement and optional reading will be sent prior to the event. DESCRIPTION:This will be the second event in a series presented by Innovation Cluster in support of the Workforce Australia Entrepreneurship Facilitator program\, aimed at encouraging more participation in the workforce through Self Employment. \nCome along and listen to Paul Faix’s story – from the Slovak Republic to Perth via Sydney. We will talk about how to create a successful software business in Perth from Startup in 2004\, through a few iterations and ups and downs\, to a very successful product based company with clients across Australia.  Paul is a local Maylands resident living and working in this revitalised and vibrant metropolitan district. \nHe has a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering and Information Management\, an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology\, and a Diploma in Business Management. \nWe will chart his journey both personally and professionally and find out what makes a successful entrepreneur\, the drivers and disciplines necessary\, the lessons learned and what he would do differently second time around. \nThere will be plenty of time for Q&A so bring along your questions and get some free advice and help for your own journey. \nRefreshments will be provided to promote discussion and networking amongst attendees after the formal session concludes.
