SUMMARY:LESI WEBINAR: IP Valuation from Theory to Practice
DESCRIPTION:IP Valuation from Theory to Practice\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLES USA & Canada\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis 50-minute webinar will explore the strategic importance of intellectual property (“IP”) valuation and the wide range of business circumstances in which understanding the economic value of IP can inform better decision-making.\nThe first half of the program will examine the growing importance of intangible assets\, the principal types of IP\, and how valuation can support investment prioritization\, resource allocation\, and optimization of IP portfolios\, while addressing common misconceptions about what actually drives IP value. The second half will focus on the practical applications of IP valuation across mergers and acquisitions\, licensing and commercialization\, litigation and dispute resolution\, and financing and capital-raising activities. Throughout the discussion\, the presenters will distinguish economic value from concepts such as development cost\, patent quantity\, technological strength\, and legal validity\, while highlighting how valuation principles intersect with licensing strategy and damages analyses. The program will conclude with practical perspectives on common misconceptions surrounding IP valuation and how licensing professionals and valuation experts can work together more effectively to support commercialization\, negotiations\, and strategic decision-making.

SUMMARY:METS Technology Showcase: The Philippines
DESCRIPTION:The Philippines is seeking to transform its mining sector into a key economic growth engine. It is one of the world’s most mineral-rich countries\, with significant deposits of nickel\, copper\, gold and other minerals essential to global industry and the energy transition. \nWhile the opportunities are significant\, the Philippines’ geology and terrain present distinctive technical characteristics\, such as complex nickel laterite orebodies with variable grades\, a tropical climate\, harsh terrain\, and atypical porphyry copper-gold geology. These conditions call for specialised innovation\, technology and expertise\, creating a strong alignment with the world-leading solutions offered by the Australian METS industry. \nThis webinar will feature five world-leading Australian METS companies as they explore the innovations being implemented at mining operations globally to control orebody grades\, reduce variability\, and support more productive and profitable mines. \nPresentations will showcase solutions driving operational value in areas such as: \n\nSensor-based ore sorting & grade control for nickel laterite and copper-gold blending\nGeometallurgy & mineralogical characterisation for variable\, weathered ore bodies\nFlowsheet optimisation for nickel feed preparation and porphyry copper-gold circuits\nRecovery improvement technologies such as flotation\, separation and beneficiation\nReal-time process control\, plant data analytics & digital twins for metallurgical performance\nManaging water\, tailings and waste for complex orebodies\n\nJoin this Webinar to understand the opportunities to foster mining technology collaboration between Australia and The Philippines.

SUMMARY:Enhancing productivity of Australian food and agriculture through value-added processing
DESCRIPTION:Australia’s agricultural industries have remained internationally through continuous innovation resulting from joint industry- and government-funding as well as the willingness of Australian farmers to adopt new innovations. However\, Australia’s agricultural and food sectors increasingly face declining rates of profitability growth\, rising costs\, volatile markets\, and vulnerable supply chains. Diversifying revenue streams through value-added processing is a business imperative\, and a matter of national economic security. \nGlobal demand for sustainable\, high-value food\, materials and energy creates a unique opportunity. By leveraging our strengths\, Australia has the potential to generate economic\, environmental and social benefits positioning us at the forefront of the global bioeconomy. \nIn the third webinar in ATSE’s Beyond the Bite series\, we will hear from experts on how we can support the innovation system across the agricultural and food sectors to increase productivity\, profitability\, and sustainability.

SUMMARY:Event Invitation: Defence Innovation on Tap
DESCRIPTION:Explore human performance\, neuroscience and emerging technologies shaping future Defence\, from AI and robotics to resilience and innovation.\n\n\n\n\nDefence capability is changing rapidly. AI\, autonomy\, robotics\, quantum\, cyber\, space and advanced technologies are transforming how the defence industry operates — and fundamentally changing what we ask of people. The 2026 National Defence Strategy puts people and capability at the heart of Defence’s future\, while the new Defence Innovation\, Science and Technology Strategy highlights the role of research and innovation in delivering that future capability. So where does human performance fit? \nJoin us for an evening of ideas and connections as we explore one of the defining questions for future Defence capability: How do we enable people to perform at their best when the environment around them is changing faster than ever? \nWe’ll ask: \n\nHow do we optimise human performance in complex\, high-pressure environments?\nWhat happens to human decision-making\, resilience and performance as technology becomes more sophisticated?\nWhat new capabilities and skills will people need?\nWhere can research make a measurable difference?\nHow do we turn innovation into real-world Defence capability?\n\nFrom human performance and neuroscience to AI\, robotics\, autonomy and advanced technologies\, the conversation will explore the challenges — and opportunities — ahead.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: AusSRC Science Enabling Projects EOIs
DESCRIPTION:AusSRC now invites the Australian SKA science community to submit Expressions of Interest for projects that could benefit from AusSRC science\, software\, infrastructure\, or operational support.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Australian SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) is an un-incorporated joint venture between CSIRO – Australia’s national science agency\, Curtin University\, the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre and the University of Western Australia (UWA). \nFunded by the Australian Government\, AusSRC is Australia’s contribution to the international SKA Regional Centre Network (SRCNet). The SRCNet will support the global flow of data and processing needed for the SKA Observatory (SKAO) telescopes – the two most advanced radio telescopes in the world\, currently under construction in Australia and South Africa. \nThe AusSRC Science Enabling Projects\nAs part of a commitment to enabling the scientific output of the Australian SKA science community\, AusSRC supports a number of projects to build capabilities that will enable SKA science\, known as the AusSRC Science Enabling Projects (ASEPs). The ASEPs will help drive the expansion of scientific workflows and creation of new data-handling pipelines for processing and analysing large astronomical datasets. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nProjects may use data from CSIRO’s ASKAP radio telescope\, the Curtin University-led Murchison Widefield Array (MWA)\, the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory’s (SARAO’s) MeerKAT telescope\, other SKA precursors\, SKA-related multi-wavelength datasets\, or contribute to community resources and broader SRCNet capabilities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFollowing the successful delivery of 8 projects in the inaugural round\, the second round of ASEPs will support projects that: \n\nAdvance Australian SKA precursor science\nContribute to SKA-readiness and SRCNet capabilities\nDevelop sustainable workflows\, software\, or services\nExpand Australia’s capability in radio astronomy\nDeliver impact beyond a single project or user\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the community moves closer to SKA Science Verification and SKA-era science\, this round will continue to support projects connected to SKA science\, SKA precursor data\, and broader SRCNet priorities. Learn more and apply here \nASEP Expressions of Interest (EoIs) open Wednesday 19 August 2026 and close 5pm AWST Wednesday 16 September 2026.
