ISCT ANZ Regional Meeting

The International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT), Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) regional meeting will be held in person in Perth, WA, August 16-18, 2023.
NOTE: Additional 50 tickets were added on the 6th of July as the initial ticket allocation sold before the early bird deadline. Additional room has been added to accommodate the increased number of delegates. With this increase, the venue is at full capacity, and no further increase will be possible.
- WA-based ESP can apply for free registration awards.
ESP must be a current ISCT member, reside in the ANZ region and submit an abstract to be eligible for travel support. The selection process is based on abstract merit and scoring will be conducted by the ISCT ANZ abstract review panel.
FINAL PROGRAM is now available
After 13 years, the ISCT ANZ annual meeting returns to WA to showcase the latest developments in cell and gene therapies. Scientific presentations from international and local speakers on day one will provide an overview of the latest developments in translational and pre-clinical research and manufacturing technologies. The day will end with a socialising event and the opportunity to network with peers, collaborators and sponsors.
Day two will feature workshops and panel discussions focusing on Quality, regulatory affairs, training and novel gene therapies. Delegates will be able to discuss regulatory compliance with experts in the field and engage with colleagues in workshops debating education and training needs.
The conference dinner at the end of day two will be held at one of Perth’s best restaurants – Fraser’s, located in the beautiful Kings Park overlooking the Perth City skyline. The conference dinner is included in the 3-day registration.
The last day of the meeting will focus on clinical trials, consumer engagement, commercialisation pathways and marketed therapies. The day will conclude with the awards for best presentations.

Pre-conference workshops, Tuesday, 15th August 2023
- Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) manufacturing workshop will be hosted by ISCT ANZ and industry partners: ThermoFisher Scientific, Miltenyi Biotec, Lonza and Cytiva. This event is exclusively available to delegates who register for the ISCT ANZ 2023 conference (ESPs who received free registration are eligible). The workshop is a fully catered, whole day event, with the first session starting at 08:30 and the last session finishing by 17:00. Each of the four sessions will include hands-on demonstration of various cutting edge CGT equipment and manufacturing processes. Please note, only 25 seats are available per session. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please email isctanz@isctglobal.org after registering for the conference to reveal the workshop location and the booking page to reserve your seat.
- FACT Cellular Therapy Accreditation & Quality Principles Workshop will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, 21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Join Dr Phyllis Warkentin, the Chief Medical Officer of FACT, and her team to learn about the the FACT accreditation process, tips for compliance success and what to expect during the FACT inspection. The workshop will also include roundtable discussions about: common deficiencies and how to respond; risk assessments and how to manage risk; validations. ISCT ANZ welcomes the submission of abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Abstract submission closed on 7th of May 2023. All abstracts have been reviewed and submitters have been notified of the outcome.

Travel stipends and free registration awards
ISCT ANZ will offer travel stipends for ANZ Early Stage Professionals (ESP)* to attend the meeting.
- ESP based outside of WA can apply for a travel stipend. Up to $1,200 cash towards flights and accommodation (receipts required) plus free registration .
- WA-based ESP can apply for free registration awards.
