The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science is an ongoing element of the program. There are two grant opportunities for this program, the Science Prizes and the Science Teaching Prizes.

The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science are Australia’s most prestigious and highly regarded awards for achievements in scientific research, research-based innovation, and excellence in science teaching.

Science Prizes

▪ Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year ($50,000)
▪ Frank Fenner Prize for Life Scientist of the Year ($50,000)

Science Teaching Prizes
▪ Prime Minister’s Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary Schools ($250,000)
