Western Australia Vegetation Extent (WAVE) initiativeThis online data competition is part of the Western Australia Vegetation Extent (WAVE) initiative, which seeks to develop an AI-powered, semi-automated system to track and map WA’s native vegetation.
The goal?
To improve environmental decision-making, land-use planning, and conservation efforts with statewide, regularly updated vegetation data.

This is DWER’s first data competition, and WADSIH has been guiding it through the process. Humyn.ai is providing the platform to facilitate this large-scale challenge, and DWER has developed the critical challenges and datasets that participants will use to create solutions.
