SUMMARY:AIDN x Guardware [webinar] Secure by Design: Protecting Engineering IP Across Defence Supply Chains
DESCRIPTION:WHY ATTEND: You already know the dilemma: you have to share drawings and design files to win work\, but the moment those files leave your network\, you lose visibility over who has them\, where they’ve gone\, and what’s being done with them. Most businesses find out too late\, after a breach\, not before one. \nThis practical one-hour session shows how an Australian defence supplier is closing that gap on live projects\, using GuardWare PROTECT Design. Through a real customer case study\, you’ll see how to share designs with confidence\, keeping control of the file itself\, no matter where it travels\, who has it\, or what happens after the project ends. \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN \nHow protection that stays attached to the file itself\, not your network\, lets you: \n\nSecure CAD drawings\, technical designs and other engineering IP wherever they travel.\nControl who can open\, use and share protected files.\nRevoke access when project roles or circumstances change.\nProvide visibility and audit evidence around file access.\nReduce the monitoring\, investigation and reporting burden if a protected file is lost\, stolen or exposed.\nStrengthen readiness to participate in Australian defence programs\, major defence projects and AUKUS or US supply chains.\n\nLeave able to answer the question every tender and program review is starting to ask: where is our engineering IP\, who can open it\, and can we take it back if we need to?

DESCRIPTION:When Australians Investing In Women launched our 2025 strategic roadmap\, we made a clear commitment to strengthening gender lens investing in Australia and helping shift more capital towards women and girls. \nThis can’t be designed in isolation. Next month\, we will travel be travelling around the country for a series of Gender Lens Investing Consultation Roundtables. \nWe’ll be listening and learning from the people working across Australia’s investment ecosystem\, including investors\, institutions\, banks\, funders\, foundations and other capital allocators. We want to understand what’s already working. Where the barriers are. What investors need to confidently apply a gender lens. And where AIIW and the broader ecosystem can add the greatest value. \nThese conversations will help inform how we support the continued development of gender lens investing in Australia\, grounded in the experiences and needs of those doing\, exploring and influencing this work. \nOur role is not to have all the answers. It is to bring people together\, listen carefully and help turn collective knowledge into collective action. Registrations are now open\, with places limited in each city. Find your city and submit your expression of interest

SUMMARY:Morning Startup Presentation: How purpose turns a long list into a clear next step
DESCRIPTION:What do I do next? How purpose turns a long list into a clear next step \nEvery founder’s to-do list grows faster than it shrinks. There’s always another feature\, another meeting\, another opportunity that looks too good to miss. You finish the week exhausted\, and still can’t say whether any of it moved you forward.\nThe question underneath it all never changes: what do I do next?\nIn this session\, Paul Cannavan will share why a long list is rarely the real problem\, and why a missing sense of direction usually is. \nDrawing on 20 years building digital products\, mentoring more than 50 founders\, and some hard personal choices about where his own time goes\, Paul will tackle the questions he hears most: \n\nHow do you choose between ten good ideas when you only have time for one?\nHow do you say no without feeling like you’re missing out?\nHow do you get from a big-picture “why” to something you can actually do on Monday morning?\n\nYou’ve probably heard that you should start with why. This session is about what comes after it. Most purpose talks stop at the statement; Paul treats purpose as a decision tool that turns a why into a direction\, and a direction into the one step worth taking this week. You’ll leave with a short set of questions you can use straight away\, and your own next step noted down\, on your phone or however suits you\, along with why it matters. \nAbout the speaker \nPaul Cannavan is a product strategy consultant and the founder of With Impact In Mind. He has spent 20 years building digital products across Australia and the UK\, from working with clinicians in UK hospitals to shadowing clinical staff in First Nations clinics in the Northern Territory. He has mentored more than 50 founders through accelerator programs and runs the Innovation Shed\, a platform and hands-on workspace for early-stage Perth founders and innovators. He’s also building buddi\, a tool that helps people take the next step towards better health. His own why is simple: time\, and quality of life\, with his family

SUMMARY:IN:WA Panel - Working Harder\, Not Smarter. Are We Burning Out the Industry?
DESCRIPTION:The next 2026 IN:WA Panelist event lands on Thursday 15th October at Lawson Flats. \n\n\n\n\nA space for independent agency leaders and industry voices to have honest conversations about what’s shaping our sector. Each IN:WA Panel session brings together experienced operators and external perspectives to challenge thinking and spark real discussion. \nOpen to both IN:WA Members and Non-Members alike! Come to connect\, contribute\, and experience the IN:WA community firsthand. \nIN:WA is bringing together industry experts to discuss the topic: Working Harder\, Not Smarter. Are We Burning Out the Industry? \nAsk anyone in agency life how they’re going and you’ll hear some version of “busy.” More channels\, faster turnarounds\, thinner margins\, always-on communication. But is the industry genuinely harder than it used to be\, or are we just running it the same way we always have while the world around it has changed? \nThis panel brings together three perspectives you don’t usually get in the same room: someone who’s lived through decades of industry culture\, someone who’s just entered it\, and someone who sees the clinical patterns across workplaces like these. \nIN:WA provides a united voice for Western-Australian-owned businesses across the breadth of the creative communications industry\, including Advertising\, Branding\, Digital\, Media\, PR and Production.

SUMMARY:Atlassian Community Event Perth 2026
DESCRIPTION:ACE Perth is back – and this time\, we’re talking AI\nAI is changing the way we work – fast. But what happens when AI moves from being a tool you use to becoming part of your team? \nFor one night in Perth\, we’re bringing senior Atlassian leaders Jono Ross and Alana Dyson together to unpack where the future of teamwork is heading – and give Perth direct access to insights we don’t often get on the west coast. \n\nSee AI in action. Alana will present Accelerating Outcomes with Rovo: Search\, Chat & Agents in Action\, showing how AI can search across organisational knowledge\, work alongside teams and use agents to actually get work done.\nHear what’s coming next. Jono and Alana will explore the future of teamwork\, human + AI collaboration and why trust\, security and governance are quickly becoming the next big conversation.\nThen we bring it back to WA. Hear from leaders representing some of WA’s best-known organisations and major global enterprises about how they’re actually approaching AI – what’s working\, what’s holding them back\, and how it’s changing their businesses. Panellists revealed soon.\n\nBring your questions for the audience Q&A – and if you want to dive deeper into AI trust and governance\, you’ll have the opportunity to register for a follow-up session with Atlassian’s Trust team. \nThen stick around for free drinks\, pizza and networking with Atlassian\, our panellists and some of Perth’s leading technology and business people. \nYou don’t need to be an Atlassian expert. If you’re thinking about AI\, technology or the future of work\, this one’s for you. \n⚡ Free event. Limited places. Registration essential. \nHosted by Atlassian & Interfuze Consulting – WA’s only Atlassian Gold Solution Partner. Proudly supported by the City of Perth through its Economic Development Sponsorship Program. \nFeaturing \nJono Ross\, Teamwork & AI Collaboration Lead\, Atlassian ANZ\nJono works with organisations across Australia and New Zealand to rethink how teams collaborate and get work done. With a focus on the future of teamwork and AI-enabled collaboration\, he helps organisations connect strategy with execution\, reduce unnecessary busywork and explore how people and AI can work together more effectively. \nAlana Dyson\, Senior Customer Success Architect – Rovo\, Atlassian\nAlana specialises in AI-driven solutions and enterprise transformation\, helping organisations turn AI from an emerging technology into a practical\, everyday capability.
