SUMMARY:Non-Coding AI Use : An easy way to kill your startup
DESCRIPTION:AI is now the cheapest advisor in the room – and that’s exactly the problem. \nEarly-stage founders are increasingly turning to AI for the advice they can’t yet afford: drafting legal agreements\, preparing patent applications\, working through R&D tax claims\, setting up company structures. Used well\, with the right expertise behind it\, AI is a powerful tool. Used without the knowledge to spot when it’s wrong\, it’s a fast and expensive way to do real damage to your startup. \nJoin Experia Growth and our expert sponsors for a sharp\, one-hour lunchtime session on where non-coding AI use goes wrong – and what to do instead. \nThis is for early-stage and aspiring founders who are already leaning on AI to fill the gaps\, and want to understand the risks before they become expensive.

SUMMARY:Founders Across Borders: Why Global from Day One (and what that means)
DESCRIPTION:Most founders treat “going global” as a milestone they’ll deal with later. By the time they get there\, the product\, the team\, and the company are already built around one market — and changing that is expensive\, sometimes impossible without starting over.\nThis session makes the case for the opposite approach: building global from day one\, before you think you need to. \nWhat you’ll learn: Why “initial market” is a more useful mental model than “home market”\, and what changes when you adopt it. | How product\, team\, and culture decisions made in the first few months determine how hard international expansion will be later. | The legal and entity structure decisions that are nearly impossible to undo once made. | What fundraising looks like when you’re building for multiple markets from the start. | A worked example of a company that built global from very early — and what it cost them. \nWho should attend: Early-stage founders who suspect international expansion is in their future\, even if it’s not imminent. | Founders who have already made early decisions (team\, tools\, entity structure) and want to know what to revisit before it’s too late. | Anyone building a company they don’t want confined to one market. | You’re still working full-time\, curious\, with an idea you haven’t committed to yet.

SUMMARY:MRIWA WEBINARS: CRITICAL MINERALS & TAILINGS VALORISATION SERIES
DESCRIPTION:Resilient Value Chains for the Energy Transition: A Circular Economy approach on Critical Battery Materials with Dr Stéphanie Riché & Dr Caroline Celle\nJoin us for our new international monthly webinar series where we speak with researchers from around the globe who are advancing the fields of critical minerals and tailing valorisation. \nThe energy transition is known to be intensive in critical raw materials and must not lead to replacing the current dependence on fossil fuels with a dependence on raw materials. It must be based on assumed sovereignty over the necessary materials and a quest toward resource efficiency at each stage of a circular economy of materials. This presentation will first illustrate how supply/demand and supply chain risk analysis can support national and European strategies. It will also illustrate how key-enabling technologies can facilitate the transformation of linear material value chains into circular ones. \nThe second part of this presentation will focus on the circularity of battery materials. The replacement of critical materials for battery development is strategically addressed by developing new post Li-ion chemistries without Ni\, Co\, Li\, and Cu\, such as Na or K-ion batteries. Additionally\, the reuse of recycled inputs from production scraps or end-of-life batteries is being explored. Intensive research is ongoing to improve the electrochemical performance of high-energy-density batteries and to develop low-cost\, low-environmental-impact batteries. After a brief introduction to CEA’s R&D facilities\, the presentation will focus on the reuse of purified black mass lixiviates for the synthesis of advanced cathode active materials (PCAM and CAM). It will also evaluate the impact of the nature of impurities on overall performance.

SUMMARY:CSIRO Cybersecurity Seminar - The Autonomous Adversary: Red-Teaming in the Age of LLM Agents
DESCRIPTION:Presentation: CSIRO Cybersecurity Seminar – The Autonomous Adversary: Red-Teaming in the Age of LLM Agents\nWednesday 29 Jul 2026 | ONLINE | Dr. Mohammad Mamun\, Senior Research Officer in cybersecurity at the Digital Technology Research Centre\, National Research Council Canada. \nAbstract \nLLM agents are emerging as a new primitive for autonomous red teaming\, with the potential to support multi-step cyber operations such as attack planning\, adversary emulation\, and lateral movement. Recent advances in autonomous cyber evaluation\, including cyber-range assessments by the UK AI Security Institute and related research on agentic AI for cybersecurity\, have shifted attention from prompt-level misuse toward end-to-end operational capability in realistic environments. \nThis work examines the role of LLM agents as autonomous adversaries through controlled lateral-movement scenarios that capture key elements of advanced cyber operations under different levels of autonomy. The results highlight both the promise and the current limitations of LLM-based red teaming: although these systems can exhibit useful planning and adaptive behavior\, reliable execution remains constrained by brittle command invocation\, weak state tracking\, credential-handling failures\, and environmental instability. These findings underscore the need for rigorous evaluation methodologies\, realistic cyber-range benchmarks\, and stronger governance frameworks for increasingly capable autonomous cyber agents.

SUMMARY:Building for the future: Designing today's buildings for tomorrow's climate
DESCRIPTION:Australia’s buildings are designed and operated based on weather assumptions from the past\, but what happens when those assumptions no longer hold? The NESP Climate Systems Hub Building for the Future project is tackling this challenge head-on\, developing new future climate files that allow building simulation tools to model how structures will perform under the likely conditions of coming decades\, including under extreme conditions such as heatwaves. This will help us to understand the implications of our future climate for building thermal comfort\, energy use and peak demand. It represents a significant shift for the Australian building simulation industry\, paving the way for more climate-resilient\, efficient and future-ready design. \nThis panel discussion bringing together researchers and practitioners who have been directly involved in co-designing\, co-developing and testing these prototype files.\nYou’ll hear about the motivations underlying the project\, some of the challenges of co-design\, and the learnings from this work\, both for the scientists and for the practitioners. It’s a rare opportunity to hear how climate science is being translated into practical tools for building designers\, building simulation modellers\, assessors and policy-makers. \nThis work is complex problem solving: a chance to rethink how we plan for a changing climate and ensure Australia’s buildings are fit for the future.

SUMMARY:Fast Doesn’t Mean Right: Product Thinking in the Age of AI
DESCRIPTION:AI has fundamentally changed the economics of innovation. We can generate ideas\, prototypes and working software in hours rather than months. But while our ability to build has accelerated dramatically\, our ability to make the right decisions has not.\nAs execution becomes cheaper\, judgement becomes the new competitive advantage. \nIn this thought-provoking session\, Philippe Delalande explores why the organisations that thrive in the age of AI won’t necessarily be those that build the fastest\, but those that consistently choose the right problems\, align people around a shared intent\, and turn technology into meaningful outcomes. \nDrawing on lessons from product strategy\, human-centred design and enterprise transformation\, Philippe shares practical approaches to improving discovery\, strengthening collaboration across disciplines\, and making better investment decisions from idea through to delivery. \nBecause in the age of AI\, building fast is no longer enough. The real advantage lies in building the right thing together.

SUMMARY:2026 WA-Asia Business Forum: WA's Role in Asia's Energy Transition and Economic Future
DESCRIPTION:The WA-Asia Business Forum 2026 is a flagship event of the Western Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC). Held on Tuesday\, 4 August 2026 at Crown Perth\, the Forum convenes senior leaders from industry\, government\, and the international business community for a day of high-level discussion on the trade and investment relationship that continues to define Western Australia’s economic future: its engagement with Asia.\nThis year’s Forum is themed “WA’s Role in Asia’s Energy Transition and Economic Future”\, with the program anchored around two of the State’s most strategically significant sectors of engagement with the region: Mining and Energy. Both sit at the centre of the State Government’s Diversify WA priority framework\, and together they underpin Western Australia’s long-term commercial relationship with the Asia-Pacific. The program will examine the investment landscape across both sectors\, the government-to-government relationships that enable long-term supply agreements\, and the role of technology and artificial intelligence in reshaping how the State’s resources reach the region. \nThe Forum is where the conversations that shape Western Australia’s next decade of Asia-Pacific engagement take place. Its program combines keynote and panel discussions with structured networking\, giving delegates direct access to the industry and policy figures shaping these sectors. \nSince 1987\, WACCC has served as Western Australia’s longest-standing bridge between the State’s business community and Asia. The 2026 Forum is where that bridge continues to be built.
