DESCRIPTION:Olivia Humphrey spent many years in film distribution at Roadshow Entertainment\, BBC and Austar/Foxtel before founding the independent streaming platform\, Kanopy\, which forged a new channel for streaming films to library members. Olivia boot-strapped the company in 2008 before uprooting her young family away from Perth to move Kanopy’s head office in San Francisco\, USA. She spent the next 7 years scaling the business across North America and into Europe before selling to the private equity firm\, KKR in 2021. Kanopy was listed as one of the top 10 Australian M&A exits that year\, securing the platform as one of the great Australian media-tech success stories. \nOlivia is an Adjunct Professor for Entrepreneurship in Curtin University’s Business and Law Faculty. \nAttendees will gain insights into overcoming imposter syndrome and exploring what it means to lead a meaningful life\, drawing from personal experiences to inspire resilience and purpose in both professional and personal journeys.
