SUMMARY:FKUP Nights Perth X Bloom X WASEC: Youth Special
DESCRIPTION:A global movement and series of events where stories of failure are shared. Each month\, at events around the world\, we get three or four people to face a room full of strangers to share their own fuckup. Stories of businesses that go bust\, partner deals that fall out\, products that have to be recalled\, we tell it all.\n\nWhy Fkup Nights? Because with #peakstartup\, a 90% failure rate\, and all the talk of motivation and positivity\, there’s something missing.. talking about failure\, and learning from sharing stories of failure! Free your failures\, Perth will thank you! \nHOW IS IT DONE? \nIn every Fkup Night 3 speakers tell their failure story explaining: \nWhat was the project? \nWhat went wrong? \nWhat did they learn? \nWhat would they do differently? \nJoin Bloom\, WASEC and Fkup Nights Perth for a special youth focused Fkup Night at Bloom Curtin. Get in quick before tickets sell out! \nEach speaker tells their story in 10 images followed by Q&A. At the end of the speakers’ stories\, attendees are welcome to stick around and network over drinks. Previous Fkup Night speakers have varied from social entrepreneurs\, tech founders\, and even a doctor who a few years ago opened an adult shop that went broke. Just so you get an idea\, Fkup Nights is something between a party and a casual business conference 🙂 \nAll proceeds from the night go to a local Social Enterprise. This event supports Hello Initiative.

SUMMARY:Morning Startup: Meet WA's three newest Venture Capital funds!
DESCRIPTION:The WA Government’s New Industries Fund (Department of JTSI) is at it again! \nThis time they’re addressing the early stage funding gap by providing operational funding to help establish three new local VC funds that will be committed to investing in WA-based startups and scale-ups over the next few years. \nPurpose Ventures\, FundWA and Quokka Capital were recently announced as the recipients of the Western Australian Venture Support (WAVES) 2022-2025 pilot programs. The three new funds are expected to become operational in the coming months to support more local startups and scale-ups. \nThis is great news and we thought it would be a good idea to introduce these three new VCs to the Perth Startup community! \nIn this session\, Purpose Ventures\, FundWA and Quokka Capital will share details about where they are on their journey\, what they’re looking for\, how they can help\, and answer questions from you—the startups of WA! \nHere are some details in the mean time: \n\nPurpose Ventures is industry agnostic and invests from Pre-Seed to Series B rounds. They are looking for purpose-driven founders who have the ambition to build companies that can have global impact.\nFundWA is a Western Australian venture capital fund that invests in technology-enabled innovative businesses in Western Australia. They invest in companies ready to scale beyond the earliest stage\, to take their technology and innovation into new markets.\nQuokka Capital is an active venture partner who invests in ventures that have exceptional founding teams that can be primed for global growth. Their hands-on venture model is a response to the challenges faced by startups that struggle to access active business support during early capital raises.\n\nAgenda:\n7:30 am: Welcome\, audience shameless plugs\, and announcements\n7:45 am: Panel session with Purpose Ventures\, FundWA and Quokka Capital\n8:20 am: Audience Q&A\n8:30 am: Begin networking\n9:00 am: Finish \nLive stream \nThis event will also be live streamed for the regions courtesy of the New Industries Fund from the Department of Jobs\, Tourism\, Science and Innovation! \nWhen the time comes\, you can watch the live stream here:\nhttps://perthvideo.com.au/morning-startup-perth/
