SUMMARY:Business Women’s Collective Monthly Meetup March
DESCRIPTION:The Business Women’s Collective hosts a vibrant Monthly Meetup fostering empowerment and collaboration. This dynamic event unites a diverse group of talented business and community leaders\, providing a platform for networking\, skill-sharing\, and inspiration. Through engaging discussions and impactful connections\, the collective empowers businesswomen to thrive in their professional journeys\, creating a supportive and uplifting community. \nMonthly Meetups are no cost to attend\, however\, we do encourage you to support the onsite Groundswell Cafe by purchasing beverages and/or food from their delicious menu! \nOur events are facilitated and follow a carefully designed format to ensure that you receive the most value from the time you commit to attending. Whether it’s a simple social outing you are looking forward to\, or you are seeking high quality connections\, we aim to provide engaging opportunities for you to receive support and inspiration. \nBook your place now as we have limited numbers of tickets available due to venue capacity. \nWe understand that unexpected life events can result in a change of plans\, so if you book and then find yourself unable to attend\, please contact us immediately so that we can offer your place to another lady from our waitlist. \nWe look forward to meeting you at our next Monthly Meetup!\n\nMORE ABOUT BWC \nThe Business Women’s Collective is an initiative that started early in 2023 when a small group of dynamic business women got together on a semi regular basis over coffee and realised how valuable these catchups were in providing support. They wondered whether this casual meeting format would be of value to other women in their community and the first Monthly Meetup was hosted in June of 2023. This event was a success and the feedback was very positive\, so the “founders” decided on some group roles and a regular format was developed with meetups being hosted each month through the remainder of the year. \nWe are extremely grateful to our BWC “Champions” who provide their time\, expertise and skills voluntarily\, to ensure that everyone in our growing community is warmly welcomed and supported. \nThe BWC Team of Champions are a humble group\, but always worthy of a mention!\n🌼 Veronica Smith (Lead Facilitator)\n🌼 Kelly Winrow\n🌼 Sue Daley\n🌼 Kelly King\n🌼 Chloe Esakoff

SUMMARY:Building an Inclusive and Accessible Community
DESCRIPTION:The Ability Heroes venture is a project by the community for the community to vitalise an untapped human resource by providing access\, inclusion\, and acceptance information for people with restriction to contribute meaningfully through work or volunteering. His message aligns well with Rotary’s mission of Service above Self. \nHis journey of living with spastic paraparesis since birth and transforming his experiences into a force for community good is remarkable. By focusing on inclusivity and accessibility\, Adam’s work with Ability Heroes aims to leverage the often overlooked talents of individuals with restrictions\, enabling them to contribute meaningfully through work or volunteering. The platform serves as a valuable resource for individuals with restrictions\, facilitating their participation in the community with dignity and respect. The Ability Heroes Friendship Group project further emphasizes the social aspect\, helping to ensure that planning outings and engagements are not only possible but are done with consideration to the unique needs of each individual. \nAdam’s talk offers invaluable insights into the importance of building inclusive communities that value and utilise the diverse abilities of all its members. It also serves as a powerful reminder of the impact businesses and individuals can have when they commit to making society more accessible and accepting for everyone.  The presentation offers practical advice for businesses and organizations looking to be more inclusive\, as well as inspire\nothers with the story of how determination and a vision for a more inclusive community can lead to significant social impact.

SUMMARY:ACS WA CONVERSATION CIRCLES: SUPPORTING WOMEN IN TECH
DESCRIPTION:This is a women’s in person event to be held in Perth\, Western Australia. \nAs reported in 2023’s Australia’s Digital Pulse\, approximately 30% of Australia’s technology professionals are women\, with progress toward improving representation and equal participation of women in the workforce being glacially slow. \nOf the women currently employed in technology roles\, many have experienced and continue to face barriers and career challenges. From those navigating their way in the early stages of their career\, through to established professionals\, they all seem to face the same barriers. Job progression\, network building\, imposter syndrome\, and a lack of opportunities for them to innovate and secure well-paying roles being just a few of the key issues faced by women across the Australian technology landscape. \nIn an effort to help bridge the divide and support women in tech\, ACS is eager to delve deeper into the wants and needs of women working in the sector. Through candid and open discussions\, we’d like to gather broader and honest insights from women on their various pain points and understand how ACS might help solve them. \nFacilitated by ACS’ Vice President of Communities\, Jo Stewart-Rattray\, we warmly welcome and encourage all women working in technology to attend and participate in our series of conversation circles\, so we can continue to work toward building an equitable and diverse Australian technology sector. \n  \nAGENDA: \n5.30pm – Registrations open \n6:00pm – Discussion commences \n7:00pm – Networking and light refreshments \n\n\n\n\nCONTACT DETAILS\n\nVicki Leddin\nMember Services & Events Manager (WA)\nvicki.leddin@acs.org.au
