DESCRIPTION:The Department is establishing the Science and Technology Council (the Council) to support the delivery of the Plan\, through the promotion of cross-disciplinary collaboration and provision of strategic advice to the Department on science and technology opportunities and challenges\, including: \n\nhorizon scanning and identification of long term and emerging scientific and technological developments;\nscientific and technological issues of relevance to Government policy or priorities;\nWestern Australia’s science ecosystem\, including issues relating to science engagement\, research capability\, collaboration opportunities (including international opportunities)\, science\, technology\, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and workforce skills;\nhow to best deliver the Government’s objectives as set out in the Plan; and\nsupporting connections between industry\, academia and government on research and issues associated with science and technology.
