DESCRIPTION:As a non-Executive Director\, you will partner with the board to meet StartupWA’s objectives and purpose. You will ensure\, together with the board\, that StartupWA (SWA) operates ethically and socially responsible. This includes maintaining the highest governance standards\, advocating for the Western Australian startup ecosystem and acting with honesty and integrity. \nIn running the SWA board\, we are committed to ensuring that the collective minds and experience of the board members contribute to strengthening the agenda for SWA. This means to have an effective board\, a mix of skills and attributes are required. Ones that are balanced across individual board members and collectively service what the organisation needs to carry out its strategy. \nKey deliverables of the role will include:\n\n• Promote and advocate for and on behalf of SWA interests\, including the broader constituents of a diverse membership base.\n• Demonstrate commitment to the organisation through regular and continual attendance at Board and project meetings.\n• In partnership with the Board\, ensure the organisation’s financial control procedures are adequate and that risk management strategies are in place.\n• Commit to implementing\, maintaining and refining a system of good governance.\n• Liaise with relevant stakeholders. \nThis is a volunteer position.
