DESCRIPTION:The FHRI Fund Distinguished Fellows Program (the Program) aims to attract outstanding and innovative world-class research leaders (the Fellows) to WA\, who will lead a substantial and high-quality innovative research program. \nFellowships are being made available to international or interstate senior research leaders\, appointable at academic Level D or E professor\, or equivalent clinical level (for clinicians in health care disciplines including allied health and health sciences\, dental\, medical\, nursing and midwifery professions)\, to relocate to WA and undertake a significant program of research. \nUp to three Fellows will be provided with an attractive 5-year funding package consisting of salary support for the Fellow as well as other research personnel salaries\, direct research funding and relocation costs. \nEach funding package is to the value of up to $5 million over 5 years with up to $2.5 million funded through the FHRI Fund. An additional $500\,000 Reserve Funding can be requested\, noting that justification is required. A cash co-contribution equal to the amount requested from the FHRI Fund must be made by the Administering Institution and can include cash contributions made by any partner organisation(s).

DESCRIPTION:Businesses and government organisations are invited to partner with universities to apply for grant funding to bring talented students into your team. \n\n\nLeading the charge in upskilling Australia’s digital tech workforce\, the Next Generation Graduates Program (NGGP) will fund up to 500 nationally competitive scholarships to attract and train the next generation of AI and emerging technologies specialists and build technology capability and skills across a range of fields. \nFunded by the Australian Government\, the NGGP will provide scholarships to domestic students and aims to attract candidates from diverse academic backgrounds\, including those with degrees in social sciences\, professional fields\, mathematical disciplines\, computational sciences\, or other areas of study. \nRound 2023-24 will provide up to a total of $15.5 million in student stipends and allowances from 2024-2029 with up to a further $5.5 million expected to be committed by industry partners. \nStructure\nThe Round will be structured with two streams: \n\nGeneral Stream – is set to allocate $7.5 million\nRegional Stream – is set to allocate up to $8 million\nNB: As part of our commitment to a regional focus\, priority will be given to Regional Stream applications that successfully meet the criteria. DESCRIPTION:Round 5 of the WA Agrifood and Beverage Voucher Program is open for applications. \nThe Voucher Program supports small businesses across regional and metropolitan WA to access expert advice to build resilience and sustainability\, competitiveness\, scale and export preparedness into their operations.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUp to $20\,000 per business\, with 50:50 co-contribution\, is available to access professional services with up to two vouchers under 5 categories; \n\nBusiness Planning;\nManufacturing for Business Growth (including transition to manufacturing for producers\, HACCP\, process engineering and automation);\nSales and Marketing (including e-commerce\, marketing strategy\, customer relationship management system design\, export market development and re-branding);\nFinancial Health (including succession planning\, pitch decks\, and other investment planning); and\nEnvironmental Sustainability and Social Responsibility (including net zero planning\, waste water management plans\, sustainable packaging design\, and ESG).\n\nApplicants may select a service provider that suits their business (preferably local!) and upload a quotation with their application\, which can be completed via SmartyGrants. A separate quotation and application must be submitted for each (up to two) voucher. \n\nHow to apply\nOpen – Round Five is open for applications via SmartyGrants until 5:00 pm (AWST) Monday\, 4 December 2023 \nFor those potential applicants needing help to identify service providers\, DPIRD maintains a searchable database of Western Australian Service Providers that specialise in Food and Beverage. \nVouchers will be provided to competitive WA businesses that meet the eligibility criteria and whose business development objectives are most closely aligned with the State Government’s objectives including: \n\nGrowing and diversifying the State’s economy – Future jobs and skills;\nStronger\, safer communities;\nInvesting in climate action;\nInvesting in the regions.\n\nEligible small businesses will be required to have an annual sales turnover of between $100\,000 and $50 million. Vouchers may be provided to metropolitan and regionally based WA businesses that meet the eligibility criteria and are assessed as competitive. The maximum value of a voucher that a business can apply for is dependent on the annual sales turnover of that business. The Fair Work Commission has released an application programming interface (API) that grantees could consider using in their design solution. Grantees must use the MAPD\, but they may also use data from other sources. DESCRIPTION:The Co-Funding Partnerships Program (Co-FPP) is a Program of the Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund. \nThe purpose of the Co-FPP is to establish collaborations and funding partnerships to bring genuinely new non-government funding or maximise the impact of existing charitable funding for health and medical research and innovation in WA\, and to build a culture that supports co-operation and interconnectedness. \nAdvantages of partnering with the FHRI Fund\, which is administered by the Department of Health\, include: \n\nLeveraged funding in a shared area of interest\, increasing impact.\nReputational benefits of being involved in Programs supported by the FHRI Fund\, which is the State’s premier and legislated vehicle to support health and medical research and innovation.\nPromotional opportunities to publicise co-funded Programs\, including through Ministerial media statements\, the FHRI Fund website and extensive stakeholder distribution channels.\nAccess to expert personnel to design bespoke funding programs that are transparent and competitive\, or choose from tried and tested FHRI Fund programs tailored for the co-funded Program or Initiative.\nBest-practice application review processes\, including access to expert reviewers drawn from an extensive database including consumers\, clinicians\, academics and private industry.\nUnparalleled cross-sector reach\, including into hospitals\, universities\, research institutes and industry to ensure high-quality applications are received.\nRobust grant award and management processes\, ensuring co-funding is spent appropriately.\nEmbedded evaluation\, so that the benefits of the co-funding are tracked.\n\nUpdate applying to the Co-FPP from the March 2023 funding cycle\nThe Co-FPP now has two streams: \n\nStream A is open to all eligible entities who will contribute genuinely new funding to establish a new co-funded program.\nStream B is for co-funding of an existing successful WA funding program and is open only to active charitable organisations listed on the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission register.\n\nFurther information about the Co-FPP is provided below. Partnerships will only be formed where the proposed use of partnership funds aligns with at least one of the Priority Goals and at least one of the Focus Areas. \nApplication process\nSelection of co-funding partners will be through a two-step process: \n\nPotential partners submit an online expression of interest (EOI)\nIf their EOI is found to be eligible and appropriate\, the potential partner will be invited to submit a Proposal to Partner form.\n\nThe Office of Medical Research and Innovation will work with potential partners to guide them through the above steps. \nProposals to Partner will be reviewed by a suitably experienced panel and\, if successful\, the partner and the Office of Medical Research and Innovation will work together to design the new co-funded program. \nFunding\nCo-FPP proposals may request contributions from the FHRI Fund of between $500\,000 and $1\,000\,000 per annum per proposal and the FHRI Fund contribution must be at least matched in cash by the Funding Partner. The co-funded Program cannot be ongoing. \nThe co-funded Program\nCo-funded Programs could\, for example\, provide funding for fellowships\, research projects\, innovation activities or infrastructure. The Office of Medical Research and Innovation will work with partners to determine a co-funded Program that suits the partner and the FHRI Fund. \nAward of funding through the co-funded Program will be through open\, competitive and transparent processes\, with guidelines and conditions for applicants. \nHow to apply\nProspective Funding Partners may submit an expression of interest (EOI) form to co-fund a FHRI Fund Program or Initiative at any time. However\, expressions of interest and proposals to partner received in the final month of a FHRI Fund 4-monthly Funding Program cycle will be considered after the next funding cycle commences. The CRC Program supports industry\, research and the community in 2 ways: \n\nCRC Grants – support medium to long term industry-led collaborative research\, for up to 10 years.\nCRC Projects (CRC-P) grants – support short term\, industry-led collaborative research\, for up to 3 years.\n\nCRC Grants provide funding for collaborations to solve industry identified problems. \nCRCs must: \n\nbe a medium to long-term industry-led collaborative research program\naim to solve industry identified problems and improve the competitiveness\, productivity and sustainability of Australian industries\ninclude an industry-focused education and training program\, including a PhD program that builds capability and capacity\nincrease research and development (R&D) capacity in small to medium enterprises (SMEs)\nencourage industry take up of research\n\nThere is no specified limit to funding for each CRC.
