DESCRIPTION:The Research Fellows 2026 program is Part A of the FHRI Fund Fellowships program. It aims to attract and develop outstanding health and medical researchers across all career stages\, making the WA research workforce more competitive at national and international levels. \nFellowships up to $1.8 million will be awarded to top-ranked applications to support salary and research costs for up to 4 years. \nIn 2026\, these prestigious fellowships will be offered across 4 streams: \n\nAboriginal Health Researcher Fellows – for early\, mid\, and senior-career researchers who identify as Aboriginal\, to co-design and lead research with Aboriginal communities\nClinician Researcher Fellows – for medical practitioners\, nurses\, midwives\, dentists and allied health professionals and other registered clinicians to conduct impactful research that improves health outcomes.\nEmerging Researcher Fellows – for early and mid-career researchers to lead impactful and collaborative research.\nFHRI Fund-Heart Foundation Fellows – for early and mid-career cardiovascular researchers. DESCRIPTION:The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Early to Mid-Career Researchers (EMCR) Initiative aims to build and grow research capacity and capability in Australia by supporting EMCRs to continue their health and medical research careers. \nThe objective of this grant opportunity is to provide grants of financial assistance to support medical research and medical innovation projects that: \n– Stream 1 (Incubator): conduct early stage\, small scale research\, led by early career researchers\, that seeks to assess the potential and feasibility of novel strategies to address a critical or intractable health issue in one or more Priority Populations. \n– Stream 2 (Accelerator): establish a large-scale interdisciplinary research program\, led by mid-career researchers\, that drives implementation of substantial improvements to health care and/or health system effectiveness for one or more Priority Populations. \n– Stream 3 (Targeted Call for Research): utilise co-funding to accelerate the translation of research led by early or mid-career researchers into policy and practice. (Note: a priority population focus is not required). \nApplicants to this grant opportunity must propose research that addresses one of the three Streams of research. An application may only be submitted to one of the above three Streams.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: Emerging Gamemakers Fund
DESCRIPTION:The Emerging Gamemakers Fund provides grants of up to $30\,000 to support the development of original\, new projects with budgets of up to $500\,000 at the time of applying\, made by Australian independent gamemakers. \nThe Emerging Gamemakers Fund offers flexible support to emerging independent games practitioners as well as established gamemakers who are interested in exploring creative and artistic experimentation within their practice. \nIt can fund the creation of a prototype or the completion and release of a micro-scale game. The program will run as a series of rounds from financial year 2023/24 until financial year 2026/27. \nFor games that are already developed to the point of having a playable prototype\, consider instead applying for the Games Production Fund. \nApplications open on 25 June 2026 and close on 27 August 2026.

SUMMARY:DEADLINE: Games Production Fund
DESCRIPTION:The Games Production Fund offers flexible support to Australian independent gamemakers and games studios. The grant is aimed at projects that already have an early-stage prototype. \nGrants of up to $100\,000 will support the development of original Australian independent games with budgets of up to $500\,000 at the time of applying\, to take the game to a significant milestone of its development. \nThe program allows Screen Australia to respond to the varied needs of gamemakers at different career stages\, providing direct funding that will assist studios in meeting their goals and establishing themselves in the international games landscape. \nApplicants must contextualise the milestone they are working towards and how this funding will help them achieve it in their applications. Significant milestones include: \n\nCompletion/release of a game\nEarly Access release of a game\nCompletion of a demo (to release at a digital event\, or present at a physical event)\nCreating a vertical slice that is of global competitive quality and enables a team to access the international funding and pitching ecosystem\nDeveloping an early-stage prototype to a quality suitable for submission to an accolade signifying cultural impact\, such as a notable award\, showcase\, festival\, gallery or museum exhibit opportunity\nAny other goal\, as defined by the applicant\n\nApplications will open on 25 June 2026 and close 27 August.
