Details of the eligible sub-sector are included in the list below. \nProgram detail\nThis program will assist you in: \n\nRefining your innovation idea and learning how to transform it into an R&D opportunity.\nAccessing tools and information for a comprehensive understanding of R&D collaboration and key considerations at each step.\nApplying this knowledge to advance your technology or R&D concept.\nGaining industry insights\, hearing from experts\, and networking with researchers and R&D mentors.\nCollaborating with like-minded SMEs and expanding your professional network.\n\nCourse outline\nThe program is made up of virtual webinars and self-paced learning as follows: \nPreparing for the program (week commencing 24 October\, approximately 3-4 hours)\n\nParticipants will be provided with an on-boarding session\, pre-workshop videos\, materials and questionnaires to assist in preparing for the program.\nTime commitment is approximately two hours.\n\nWeek 1: Workshop (Official start date 2 November\, approximately 4.5 hours)\n\nThe program’s main compulsory component is a half-day workshop covering the program concept. Participants will hear from CSIRO industry and research experts as well as relevant industry SMEs. We provide support and integration with venture capital partners to bring capital and next-step runway into a company. \nAll IP remains the property of the team or their sponsoring institute\, all participants are required to sign non-disclosure agreements for IP protection. \nWhat teams will get out of ON Accelerate\nON Accelerate will provide teams with knowledge and skills in the areas they need to develop their high potential innovative venture. The program will accelerate your teams’ capacity to create a disruptive\, high-impact deep-tech venture. \nThis immersive\, personalised and bespoke technology commercialisation acceleration program will: \n\nEquip\, empower and energise teams to commercialise discoveries through start-ups.\nDevelop entrepreneurial skills through engaging content\, intensive coaching and peer-to-peer learning.\nAssist teams with identifying and validating unresolved problems so they can establish and connect with ‘First Best Customer’ and partner with velocity.\nBuild and validate investment ready\, innovative\, sustainable and scalable business models.\nIntroduce teams to venture funding opportunities and prepare them to succeed.\n\nThroughout the program\, you will be connected to a network of experts and coaches who will support (and challenge) you. Startups selected following an intense application process will join a weekend bootcamp where they will hustle their way into Phase 1 of the program. \nFollowing this\, and after a rigorous Phase 2 pitching process\, the final cohort selected will travel to London for an international immersion trip where they’ll get to meet and create connections with international VC’s and investors\, learn from successful international startups and scaleups\, and explore international funding options. DESCRIPTION:The 7-month\, part-time Perth Biodesign Course brings together multidisciplinary teams to identify unmet clinical needs and work towards inventing a medical technology or digital health solution\, whilst learning about the development process. \nTeams usually come together once a week\, on a Thursday evening\, to learn\, and put into practice\, the course content delivered by course faculty and top local experts. Throughout the course\, teams will have regular deliverables that will require further work outside of the weekly meetings\, either online or at in-person team meetings. Previous participants estimate the workload of the course at around 8 hours per week. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Will Learn\n\n\n\n\nProof of concept prototyping \n\n\nRegulatory and reimbursement pathways \n\n\nBusiness models \n\n\nBusiness strategy \n\n\nDilutive and non-dilutive funding sources \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIdentifying a clinical unmet need \n\n\nValidating a clinical unmet need \n\n\nMarket and Stakeholder analysis \n\n\nBrainstorming for solutions \n\n\nUnderstanding intellectual property protection \n\n\n\nThe typical structure of a Perth Biodesign team includes passionate individuals with a clinical\, engineering/software development\, business and/or research background. Our participants range from senior students to experienced professionals\, however we encourage anyone with a strong passion for healthcare innovation to make an enquiry. \n​Previous participants of the course have included business consultants\, hospital heads of department\, 2nd year undergraduate students\, physiotherapists and PhD students. \nCourse fees are $1\,500 for students at UWA or partner organisations\, $2\,000 for other students\, $3\,000 for staff at UWA or partner organisations* and $5\,000 for others. At the end of the course\, given that all deliverables have been completed\, participants will receive a $500 reimbursement.

DESCRIPTION:The Innovation Challenge 2023: Generative Artificial Intelligence Applications (Generative AI Challenge) is seeking creative solutions that use Generative Artificial Intelligence technology to address challenges in the following streams: \n\nhealth and medical research\nhealth and medical innovation\nhealthcare service delivery\nhealth and medical education and training.\n\nThe Generative AI Challenge comprises of the following stages: \n\nStage 1 – funding of up to $50\,000 will be awarded to up to twenty projects to undertake activities\, within a 6-month period\, to test the feasibility of a proposed solution in one of the four above streams.\nStage 2 – funding of up to $500\,000 will be awarded to up to four of the Stage 1 projects\, one in each stream\, to fully develop their solution and implement this in WA\, within a 12-month period.\n\nProgram Status: Open for Applications \nMinimum Data Form due: 1:00pm (AWST)\, Thursday 23 March 2023 \nApplication Form due: 1:00pm (AWST)\, Thursday 6 April 2023 \nDetails HERE
