AICC(WA), Major Networking Lunch: Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary-General

Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary-General is leading trade policy development to confront social, economic and environmental challenges during the most difficult periods of modern economic history. Global projections for economic growth in 2022 have been slashed since December 2021, as countries grapple with fresh supply shocks in energy and commodities following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

During a recent visit to Israel, Mr Cormann praised Israel’s economic growth over the past few decades as a result of structural reforms and effective macro-economic management as Israel positions to increase its European trade. Mr Cormann also utilised his Australian experience to provide guidance to Israel on further red tape and regulatory reduction.
