The purpose of this annual State of the Blue Economy process, forum and report are to:

• enable diverse stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of the status and trends in ocean health and ocean-related economic activities, and
• facilitate alignment and collaboration on priority actions towards a shared vision.

Blue Assembly is a unique model attracting national interest for its ability to facilitate effective, sustainable governance of sustainable blue economies, through collaboration amongst key industry and community organisations.

The 2025 State of the Blue Economy has four aspects and two events:

1. Engagement period in early February – for ALL participants to vote on and discuss priorities to feed into the Forum and Event
2. Forum on 14 February (in-person) for nominated representatives of Blue Assembly Partners and invited Guests – to draft the Priorities for 2025
3. Public online event on 21 February – for ALL participants to review the Draft State of the Blue Economy 2025 priorities and other outcomes of the Forum
4. Report which will be released after Partner endorsement and will guide priority collaborations for the coming year.
