Quantum Essentials is an accessible, interactive masterclass designed for professionals who want to understand quantum technology.

Quantum computing is one of the most talked-about emerging technologies, but for many professionals working in digital and technology, it can feel distant or overly complex. As quantum computing and other quantum-based technologies move from research labs into real-world applications, technology leaders need a clear, practical understanding of what this shift means for their industries, their organisations, and their careers.

Quantum Essentials is an accessible, interactive masterclass designed for professionals who want to understand quantum technology without needing a physics background. This session cuts through the hype to provide a grounded introduction to what quantum computing actually is, where it’s headed, and why it matters for cybersecurity, digital strategy, and long-term transformation planning. The focus is on understanding, not coding, empowering participants to engage confidently in conversations about quantum technology and its strategic implications.

This masterclass is led by Dr Guy Barry, Partnerships Development Manager for the Queensland Node of Quantum Australia, the national centre for quantum growth backed by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Guy brings over 30 years of innovation experience spanning neuroscience, stem cell biology, anti-aging research, and emerging technologies.
