Morning Startup Presentation: What it really takes to keep a small tech company alive

Morning Startup Presentation:
Brendan and Liz Wright, the husband-and-wife team behind Joondalup-based CommunityToGo, have pivoted again and again. In the early 2010s, when apps were still a novelty, they delivered over 150 of them to schools, clubs, churches and community groups, before realising their customers weren’t really buying an app at all; they were trying to drive change. That insight sparked the first of many reinventions, leading to their current focus on AI.
Expect candid lessons on finding the real problem behind your product, knowing when to pivot, running a business as a couple, and staying relevant as the technology shifts underneath you.
About our speakers:
Brendan Wright is the newly appointed General Manager of ALT USA, the United States business unit of Aquatic Leisure Technologies (ALT), and previously its Digital Transformation Lead. Liz Wright is the Lead Developer at CommunityToGo and the builder behind the business, turning ideas into working products. Most recently she designed and built Coaches-Coach Sports, a multi-sport AI coaching platform delivered in partnership with Bevo Sports, using AI-assisted development to deliver in months what once took a full team. She’s also an accomplished watercolour painter who brings an artist’s eye for clean, simple design to her tech work.
