A Defence Trailblazer and UNSW Canberra Veterans Program initiative designed to connect veteran and ADF members with early-stage companies.

The Start-up Showcase is a Defence Trailblazer and UNSW Canberra Veterans Program initiative designed to connect transitioning and transitioned ADF members with start-up companies seeking experienced people with Defence and military expertise.

The online information session will provide 12–15 start-up companies with an opportunity to introduce their company, explain their scope of work and outline the expertise or support they are seeking.

The initiative recognises that veterans bring significant technical, leadership, operational, strategic and problem solving capabilities that can be valuable to emerging companies. It will showcase opportunities for veterans to engage with start-ups through paid technical expertise, advisory or consulting services, executive and C-suite roles, project-based work, mentoring and other forms of support.

The showcase will also provide start-ups with an opportunity to better understand the capabilities available within the veteran community and identify potential talent, expertise and mentors.
