DEADLINE: Nature Awards The Spinoff Prize
The Spinoff Prize is a €30,000 global award for early-stage university spinoff companies providing an opportunity for academic entrepreneurs to raise their company profile and get noticed by potential investors. It increases the visibility of academic entrepreneurs and their companies and helps them secure future investment.
The Spinoff Prize focuses on spinoff companies founded on research in life sciences or physical sciences, both of which can include digital technology approaches including artificial intelligence, deep learning, neuromorphic computing, and quantum computing.
Finalist spinoffs will pitch to the slam panels live at the Curious2027 – Future Insight™ conference, after which one winner will receive a €30,000 cash prize. All eligible applicants will receive a free online ticket to the Curious2027 – Future Insight™ conference.
We define a spinoff as a company that has been formed specifically to commercialise the outputs generated from research conducted at a university or research institute. The spinoff must have been registered as a separate legal entity on or after 7th October 2021. In the application you will have to clearly demonstrate how the underpinning research led to findings which are subsequently being commercialised
